Not sure what I need for audio

I just bought a used 08 F-250 with dual dvd's mounted in headrests. I cannot get any audio, Do I need wireless headsets? Wired headsets? or a special instruction on the radio system. The truck has Nav as well. The Dvd's are farenheit units. Does anyone know if these are factory installed or aftermarket? The reason I ask is when I went to farenheit site it was sponsored by Ford.

Try turning your stero to 88.7. I cannot figure out how to get the sound to come out through the jacks though. I plan on buying the IR headphones at somepoint, but I would like to be able to use the jacks in the meantime

Car Headrest DVD player with pictures but no sound. Its a stand alone unit but no sound comes out when playing, checked the volume all gone but no sond

It's likely that the problem is with the audio output of the headrest DVD player. Check the connections and cables, make sure that the audio cable is securely plugged in both the player and the car's audio system. If the cables and connections are fine, try resetting the player and checking the audio settings to make sure that the sound is not turned off or set to low. If these steps don't solve the problem, it might be a hardware issue, and the player may need to be repaired or replaced.

Audiovox PVS69701 Dual Screen DVD player monitor has blue screen

I had the same problem, and it seems to be a short in the video cable between the two monitors. I can bend my cable until i see the second screen and then tuck it under the headrest. I am currently looking for a replacement cable. I see it at 1800customersupport.com, but will also check the local radioshack since I need it quickly.

I got dual (forj) headrests the sound works on the one that has the dvd in it but not the one that does not, the rca jacks are hooked up to it, it has speakers in it, does it even have sound?

The monitor only headrest does not have audio handling circuitry in it. the wire harness for that side is the one with the red and black wire, and the two video inputs, not the harness with the red and black wire and the three RCA jacks. It will function on the wrong harness, but it is not the correct one.

The DVD headrest has two harnesses. One of them is for power and output, the other is for input only from another source. The harness with the red and black wire has the three RCA outputs... the video lead goes to the other headrest, and the audio can be fed to an aux input on a stereo or amplifier. The input harness is designed to be Video 2 input from either a gaming system (a Game Cube is a nice option), or another DVD or video source (hand held video device such as iPod or Smart Phone like a HTC Touch Pro 2).

As for why you have NO sound, press the FMTX button repeatedly till the screen displays no FM transmitting frequency. Then you should be able to turn up the volume on the DVD player headrest only.

I just bought the dual headrest from walmart and can not get the sound to work the passenger side. can anyone help me with this?or possibly tell me how to get the sound through the stereo.

To get sound out of the stereo, either run the audio output from the headrest to the aux input on your stereo, or cycle the FM transmit options using the FMTX button on the DVD player unit to a station you can tune to on your car's FM radio.

Dual DVD Headrest System

you could try an fm modulator which allows you to tune your radio to the set frequency and then gives you sound through your speakers
