if they are 4 ohm dual voice coil wire them to 1ohm and bump do not turn gain all the way you will fry the amp and if you really want to make them kick . write each 1 to 2 ohms and get another amp they are not getting enough wattage for the volume you are trying to run them at and could be the way you have it tuned .
due to a short you have fused two things together.try doing a continuity test between things that you know arent supposed to be conducting. like the connections near the fuse and where you connect the power, remote,ground wires
