Where is the ram located?

RAM is a detachable memory module that is attached to your computer motherboard. Its location can differ from one manufacturer to another. In the case of a laptop, some have RAM on the lower side of the motherboard while others have it on the top side, just under the keyboard. Check the user guide that you bought your machine with to understand where exactly the RAM is located depending on your model.

I recently purchased 2 1gb pny ram ram sticks hoping to upgrade my ram. After installing the 2 sticks the computer doesnt boot. I reinstalled the original 2 512mb sticks and the computer works fine. Is my...

Without the computer model and make I can't say if it is upgradable or not. Most are upgradable to some extent. You will need to look for the product description of your laptop on the manufacturer website you may want to download the user manual from them or check the manual you have if you still have it. Yo9u are looking for the max ability of the computer and at the speed and type requirements for your ram. Also, you should know that some companies make Ram of the correct type and class but for some reason will not work in some models. I have Kingston ram 2gb modules that will not work in my Laptop but I purchased Siemens Ram of the same type and it works fine. So it may just be a matter of Ram Manufacturer.

I am having hp 530 laptop with intel core duo inside,512mb RAM,80 gb hard disk.I want to upgrade my processor, ramand hard disk. can i do it ? upto what limit ?

Unfortunately I would have to say no, you won't be able to upgrade the processor. I located a user manual at

According to specifications you can increase the Ram to 2 MB and the hard drive should be a 120GB hard driver Sata

System Memory 1024-MB 533/667-MHz DDR2 SDRAM in one slot
Two SODIMM slots; supported memory 2048 MB2
Operates at a maximum of 533-MHz with 667-MHz memory
Hard Drive 120-GB3 5400 rpm SMART SATA

The processor will be limited to what the motherboard can support and it was designed for that 1.6 Ghz processor. Unfortunately it is very difficult to upgrade processors in laptop machines. I do have to ask how old this machine is. The specification indicates MegaBytes of ram and this is actually very little Ram in today's computing world. Most machines support at least 2 gigaBytes of Ram to start with.

How do i replace ram on acer 5580

The first thing to do is to find the user manual for your laptop. It will have the location(s) where the RAM is located. Some laptops with dual channel memory have the RAM physically seperated in different compartments, one on the underside of the computer, and one under the keyboard. Some have them in one compartment on the underside. You need to find out where. Once you do, you can then procede to remove the old with the new. Of course, make sure you know how to do this or you can cause permanent damage. If after reading the manual, you do not feel confident in replacing it yourself, find someone who can. Replacing RAM is not a very time consuming task, just be very mindful of keeping track of the little screws you will have to remove.
Hope this helps.

How to upgrade ram?

You have to go out and buy some RAM, fist check that it is compatible with your system before buying it. Ask any seller and they will give you correct RAM. Next, disconnect all power to the laptop which is battery and AC power and then locate the place where you need to put the RAM. Have a look at your laptop user manual to find out where the holder for RAM is or Google <Laptop Brand Eg: HP or Acre> <Laptop Model Eg: zx1200> RAM holder location and then it will in detail tell you where you need to put it. To put it in, simply take out your old stick of RAM, and put the new one in its place, put back on the plastic cover and turn on your laptop and your done
