Question about Creative Labs ZEN Vision:M Digital Media Player

Zen Vision:M not even detected on Vista!

I have had my Zen for about a year now and have had no problems at all whatsoever with Vista. Recently, whenever I plug it into my computer to sync music on it, the computer won't even recognize it! When I looked in my devices, it says, "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)". What is this supposed to mean??
Like, when I plug it in, it must recognize it cuz it makes a clicky noise, but it doesn't come up with the docked logo on my zen.
I'm not too spectacular with computers, so if you could be specific, I'd truly appreciate it! Thanks!!

I had the same problem with my Zen MicroPhoto. I finally found a simple solution:

--Go to your computer's Device Manager (with your player plugged in)
--Find your MP3 player under Portable Devices
--Right click on your player and click Uninstall
--Unplug your player from your computer when the uninstall finishes
--Plug your player back in to your computer
--Vista will automatically reinstall the driver, and your player should appear in My Computer

I have no idea what causes the players to suddenly quit working, but I'm glad I finally found an easy way to fix it.

Windows Vista and Windows 7 have drivers that should detect automatically

If you are wanting to re-load your zen hard drive with media, you would use use windows media player preferably.

Creative Zen Vision M

Greetings,

Since it is working fine on XP, we'll focus on Vista (as it was recognized before).

As stated here, Creative website Vista information page, your product is supported natively (driver is built-in Vista).

Scroll down to further suggestions and locate the Firmware Upgrade link for Vista compatibility (there's also a link button on top of the webpage just under the MP3 Player Recovery Tool button).

Keep us posted and thank you for using our service.

It won't transfer my zen vision M songs from my computer

I've been able to solve the problem I had with transferring files to my Zen Vision M.

I uninstalled all components of Media Source 5 and Zen Vision M Series Explorer on my PC. I then reinstalled them again. I also rolled back to Windows Media 10 (as I recently upgraded to v 11) and unchecked Sync with Zen Vision M in tools/options/devices on WM player. I then run the Clean up in recovery mode on the Zen. When the PC restarts after the installation of the software it will ask for you to connect the player. The PC should now successfully transfer files to the player.

Hope it works for you too.

Zen Vision M freezing during music upload.

Try to add your music a bit at a time instead of your whole library at once. That will freeze it. You can also try sync with Window's Media Player, which works a lot better than the Creative software.
