Question about Behringer B1520 Pro Eurolive 15" 2-Way Speaker Pair Main / Stereo Speaker

1 Answer

While playing it (the speaker just quit on me

It is not the fuse. Checked it out. Didn't seem to blow out or anything like that. Just quit making sound while I was using it.

It is a 2-way 400 watt powered loud speaker with integrated sound processor. It is the B215 NOT the B1520

What is the voltage and wattage of the Cerwin Vega E-715 speaker fuse?

Speaker fuses are rated in Amps. If you cant find the specs on your speaker via google, (I couldn't find anything on the fuse.) start with a 2 Amp 'slow-blow' fuse. That should work at low to medium volumes. If you find it blows at low volumes, move up to a 4 or 5 Amp fuse. E-715 is a big speaker, (handles 400W!) so starting at 2 amps should be pretty safe.

My jbl 12 subwoofer has been making moise at high levels finally it quit, took it apart and fuse was blown. Should I replace the amp?

Well, you can replace the fuse and see if the amp works, but it sounds like the amp may have been over-driven. If you intend to drive the amp at higher levels than what the subwoofer is rated for, it will blow fuses, so you may want to consider a subwoofer that has a higher wattage rating.

E315 cerwin vegas speakers and one keeps blowing a fuse when I turn it up to the normal volume I play them. Can I use a bigger fuse or is it the speaker?About a yr old rarely used until the last few mo

Try playing the speakers at a friends house or something to see if you blow their fuse. If you don't then you know for sure that you need a bigger fuse, but if you do then it's the speaker.

Cant seem to find fuses that wont blow for my 10' re series speakers

if a fuse does not blow when a short is present then the wire or unit will catch fire. You have a dead short most likley in the subwoofer. If you unplug the subwoofer and the fuse does not blow then your unit failed.

I have hooked this up to a working reciever that

Fill in the blanks about the working receiver.

You mention another subwoofer, which suggests your receiver manages the bass and possibly sends most or all of it to the sub.

If it's NOT sending the bass to the speaker terminals you use to drive the AM5 that would explain it's virtually silent bass module.

If those speaker terminals on your receiver can be set to LARGE, do it. Otherwise they assume the speakers are incapable of handling bass.

My rear and center speakers suddenly quit working. No sound

try a different source. if there is output on all speakers in test mode, then the amps are good but the source or source switching may have a problem.

Keeps blowing fuse in woofer

Seems like the wires inside the woofers are crossed. Open the sub and make sure that there are no bare wires touching. If everything seems OK then the circuitry inside is blown.

Power, but no sound

take an ohm meter and remove wires from speaker...put meter in the ohms position...you will put a lead on each of the terminals of the speaker...you should have a reading of 2, 4, 8 ohms....you may also try to use the continuity test, same, but there will be a beep ....this basically ensures that the coil running through the speaker is still good, as one piece, otherwise it will get no good reading and this is usually from blowing the speaker or sudden high bass sounds....

I recently purchased a denon av surround re- ceiver avr-2805,and a set of cerwin-vega LS-15, (separetly). When playing a cd though my dvd player, at around 0.0dB and up the fuses will blow in both speakers...

Depending on the wattage of the amp to the wattage off the speakers depends on what to use and how to control them..If your speakers are rated for more power than the amp can produce it will blow the fuses just as if the amp is rated for more than the speakers it will blow the fuse..Those type of speakers do need a good supply of power to run and speaker wire size could play an important part of that.If wire supply is to small it will over heat the coil in speakers and also blow the fuse...Look in side of the boxes to see what kind of capacitors they have on the speakers or there size to insure correct for speakers them selves..Also look at all of the wire routling in the amp to insure proper installation..Hope this helps you..Have a great day

Peavey SP5

depends who assembled the speakers as to wheather or not there is any fuse proetection installed.
The drivers are probably gone from the highs because of overloading power surge on the same circuit as the cash register,
or
the crossover is failed.

Cheap fix is replace crossover
expensive fix replace cones of speaker

Best long term protection is to split up the power loading on the stage and surge/spike guard power boards for staging equipment & have resettable fuses installed at the crossobvers or the respective speaker connections.

1.FUSES ARE PROTECTION<
2.THEY BLOW FOR A REASON<
3.PROTECTING THE SPEAKERS<
