Question about Optoma RD65 65" Rear Projection HDTV
I replaced the lamp in my 2004 Optoma RD65. After replacing, TV worked great, watched for approx. 15min. next morning set would not get a blu screen or picture. The lamp is actually turning on but shuts off after a few seconds. I can see the light thru the small openings. Is it the power supply? did my balast coincidently go bad after 15min into the new lamp. I purchased the lamp on line BLVU120A $165 it has a one yr warranty, but I don't think its the lamp.

its probably the ballast that is bad, call Optoma and you can buy a ballast for it, but you will probably want to have a pro do it, changing the ballast is a lot more involved than just changing the bulb, the ballast is what powers the bulb and it does go out on occasion.
