Panasonic PT47WX52F rear projection TV. The power on light is giving me the code with the power on light blinking 3 times. I have no picture or sound. Does anyone know what this is? Is it an easy fix or should I pronounce it DOA.
Thanks
Ron
It sounds like your tubes are acting up.mine was doing the same thing and i took a blow drier and dried out the whole inside back of it and now it works fine again. usually if you have a blinking light on the tv its to to with heat...too much of it somewhere
As u told that the light on the front pannel of the tv is blinking 3 times that confirms that the fuse is not a problem ,because if fuse on the main board of the tv is blown ,then no light on the front pannel will blink.and as u said there is no picture and sound that clearly confirms its the problem of internal main board of the tv.which has capacitors and ICs .u will have to remove the main board and check with multimeter that which capacitor or IC is blown out or got faulty or got loose on the main board.that ic or capacitor has to be replaced from the main board to make the tv to work properly.u can get this replacement parts at radioshack website or at nearest tv repair electronic shop. thanks.
Do you still have warranty for your TV
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Initially, the 3 blinks indicate protection circuitry has kicked in due to a fault at the convergence section. Often this calls for the replacement of the two (2) STK392-??? ICs, perhaps a couple of associated resistors and pico fuses.
If you are considering a DIY (do-it-yourself), then perhaps you can contact http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/ and look for Slinteriors who is also a member of this site. They have a repair kit that includes the 2 STK ICs, the resistors and the fuses as well as an Instruction Sheet that details procedures how to effect the necessary repairs.
This of course would require opening the unit, perform voltage measurements, determine faulty component and subsequent part(s) replacement. Further, a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron would be required. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings.Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY, perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.
Let me have its service manual and give you info, what to do on 3 times blink.
Here are required info...what to replaced and where these parts located in TV..
Please check below 2 pictures...
Part number is STK392-110 and 2 is required.
Need further info, please let me know.
You can get STK392-110 from Part Store and price approx $30 each.
If you need Service Manual, let me know as I can provide you for free.

For the majority of phillips/magnavox universal remotes: Hold code search button down till red light satys on. Press the tv button and the red light should blink and stay lit. With the tv on, push the power button repeatedly until the tv turns off.(dont push the power button again after the tv turns off or it will go to the next code). Push the mute button to save the setting.
I think, convergence ic's failed. probably took out some resistors and the pico fuse from what i am hearing from t.v techs. its like 50$ in parts if u can solder / desolder.otherwise take it to nearest service center...
You must know how to locate the old part (stk392-110) and make sure the
convergence circuit is the place! Removing it requires solder gobbler
and skill to get all the solder off of the multi-pin IC so the two stks
can be removed. Soldering the new ones back in requires similar skill
and special low heat pencil iron and application of heat grease so they
don't burn out again soon after their replacement. If there are any
burnt resistors in the adjacent circuitry they must be replaced as
well.
You will really need someone who has experience in replacing soldered
in ICs. A novice could do more damage to the board and the repair cost
may become much more.
Panasonic makes good tv products, but this model is getting a little
old and was not one of their better ones, unfortunately. It is well
worth a repair, but if you go for the service tech to do it try to find
one who will do it for less money. Many of them just charge the $400
without any discussion but a few repair experts are doing it for less
because it has become such a common repair on many tvs, not just
Panasonic, and they have become proficient in doing the repair.
Further, the STK ICs are getting much less expensive now days.
Therefore, some repair shops with do the repair for $200 plus.

Usually answered in minutes!
So where do I find these and the fuse. I can solder/unsolder if I know what I am looking for. I am pretty proficient at getting my computer to work but as for a TV it is new to me.
Thanks
The blinking is not on the remote but on the TV power on light.
Now I know what the light blinks mean. I have a manual and a link to parts.
Thanks Great help
