Question about Televison & Video

3 Answers

I have a Samsung BD-P1500 blu-ray. Worked great for the last 8 months until now. Will not play any DVD, new or old or Blu-ray type. After inserting disc and closing the tray the "closing" display stays on and nothing else happens. When I power down and then back up the "loading display stays on and nothing else happens.

Did not fix my problem. I guess I'll send it in for further repairing.

Hmmm... sounds like bad programing, rather than a technical issue that can be solved by cleaning the lens or other conventional methods we can try. We are talking about that the sofware on this system might be bad now and there's nothing mechanical about this problem. Fortunetly since this is a very fine piece of equipment, they do have firmware that you can download to fix it on their website. Go to: Download center for BD-P1500
Good Luck!!!

I just checked the official website for troubleshooting steps:

    BD Player Will not Read

BD Player Will Not Read Any Discs

If the player will not read any discs, it's going to require service which you can arrange by creating an online service request.

If the player will read some discs but not others, it's possible that a firmware upgrade will fix it.

Click here for firmware upgrade intructions or here for online service request.

Haha dude if it is a known issue by the manufacturer, do you really think that a simple little lens cleaner is going to help.

The lens assembly is not reaDING the disc.and the assembly which spins the discs in the device is got stuck internally and needs cleaning internally or replacement.unplug the device fron the mains for sometime.shake it slowly and also tap on the sides for sometimes.and then connect and check out.

My Samsung BD-P1500 keeps saying "No Disk." It won't play Blu-Ray or DVDs? Why?

Is it new? Then send it for warranty claim. Is it old? Warranty expired? Then send it for repair. U have an internal problem. Either with circuitry or with the pick up lens. Most cases if the power is there, then the issue is with the lens. In optical disc drives, lens is the main culprit which fails most of the time. Just in case if u don't know, pick up lens is what reads the cd/dvd/bluray through a laser.

My BD-P1500 will not recognise a new non-blu-ray disc.

If its not a Blu-Ray disc, it wont have new technology that the Blu-Ray does not have installed so its unlikely a firmware update wil fix this as its generally for new Blu-Rays.

Does the disc playback in another player?

Is it the correct region code?

Do all other DVD-Video play ok?
