Question about Technics RS-TR373 Single Cassette Deck

Technics 373 Dual Cassette - Playback Stops

I have had the TR373 technics deck for some years, in past few it will play (Deck 1 leftmost) and then suddenly stop mid-track. Hit play and it starts again.

This occurs regardless of 'reverse function' setting, counter, and after differing time from play to stopping.

Any idea of cause/solution? Thanks.

Suggest having a good clean and replace belts. If it stops around halfway on a C90 or near the end then there's a load problem on the take up reel, before halfway the supply reel.

Not sure what is odd about it-is it a regular IEC 3-prong? Mouser may have a cable if it's something else.

I need to know how to record 1 tape onto another tape on a Technics rs tr-575 dual cassette deck

press the synchro start button, the tape deck should now go to REC PAUSE, press the SPEED button till you get the required recording speed then press the synchro start again and it should start to record from deck 1 to deck 2.

make sure the tabs at the top of the tape you want to record on are intact,
if not just put a bit of sticky tape over holes.

hope this helps?

Technics RS-TR373 is chewing tapes

A lot of tape chewing problems are caused by the capstan roller being worn. Check for wear or oxide on that first.

Oh yes, on the TD-WE375 above the left deck also stops playing sound when the right deck is readied for recording.

Technics RS-TR272 dual cassette deck

Ahh, Another Dual cassette deck. These are typically not worth a repair charge. I went looking for a service manual but Hi Fi Engine did not have one but they had a Owners Manual. Any unit that has a specification as to wow and flutter starting new at .18% was never made to be a long lasting deck of any quality. I don't like to be negative about people equipment but you might be better off getting a better deck from the start. If you think it is worth the repair, then send it to someone but I don't think you will want to sink $100 into a unit like this.
I am not saying it is unrepairable but that with what you come out in the end you could have made a better choice for a deck to buy.
It is probably a bad solder joint or bad capacitor on the circuit board.
I am in Chicago and would look at it for you if you want.
