Question about LG enV VX9900 Cellular Phone
I have an Verizon LG 9900 EnV. It is in excellent condition. Last night I tried to call people but I can;t hear it ring or I can't talk to them. They complain that they can't hear me. My sound is turned up as loud as it can go. I still can't hear the numbers or anything else beep, nor can i use speaker phone. My keypad and ear volume is turned up really loud too.... can someone please help me?
I'm having the same problem on my phone. LG 9900. Tech support told me to buy a new phone. But my friend had the same problem just a day before mine did. Tech support told her to dial *228 and then push 1. You can't hear anything but the phone is updating. It will restart after its done. Worked for her but not me. Maybe it will help.

The tip from tiggerbif24 was helpful in pointing me in the right direction on this issue. Engler710 also provided a clue. I inserted an earpiece plug in the earphone jack on the phone and noticed it wouldn't go all the way in. I made a call using the ear piece and could hear the other person talking but they couldn't hear me. I tried the paper clip wiggle but it didn't work then put the phone jack back in and forced it to seat fully. There was a noticeable pop when it went in but when I took it back out, the sound was back on the phone! Whoo hoo! Evidently LG has an issue with the earphone jack on this model.

Did you use a head set for it? Like use the ear piece to talk in the car? If so it may still be on car mode. Put the extension back in and take it out.Thats the only time mine has done that,
