Sony VAIO VGC-RB52 PC Desktop Logo
Vaio Trouble Posted on Jul 24, 2012

My Vaio vgc-rb52 turns on, but nothing on the monitor. cooling fans both blowing.

My son pushed the sleep button on the keyboard. The computer shut down, now it won't start up. When you first hit the power button, the lights on the keyboard flash once, and the cooling fans come on. the monitor never comes on. I tried removing the memory cards and re-starting (one at a time). That didn't work. I hooked it to a different monitor... Nothing.

SOURCE: My computer shut off and won't come back on

In my first post I stated I had just had the power supply replaced. The lights do come on inside the computer so it's getting power, it just won't turn on.

SOURCE: sony vaio vgc rb52 no sound ... speakers work

Hello there... Check your PC's volume. You may or someone in your household has accidentally muted it. Unmute it or increase its volume (if you can't find the audio icon in the taskbar, proceed to the control panel - it's there), it maybe too low. Hope this helps... Ai :)

SOURCE: We had a power outage, and now our sony vaio

As long as the light is blinking, the PC does work. There should be a switch on the power supply (On the back of the case) Try flicking this on and off while the PC is connected to the power grid. Then try treboot the PC. Else, you culd try to cear the CMOS on your PC. If you don't know what that is, post the model of your motherboard, and I'll see if I can find it on pictures.

SOURCE: PC turned off itself and can't turn it back on

get out your operating system disc and boot from that disc. run a memory check and if possible run "fixmbr" in the repair option on the disc. you can download repair discs online just search for Ubuntu repair disc, Windows 7 repair disc, windows xp repair disc... whatever operating system you are using. free download, burn to a disc and use that to boot with in the problem computer.

I have a Sony vaio VGC-RB52, recently my mother had logged out of her user account in windows 7, and left it at the screen where u choose ur user account. Then it was unplugged by accident some hours...

Hi.

First of all disconnect the hard drive which is clicking and try to turn the desktop on. If it turns on then the HDD is causing the computer problems.
If it doesn't boot up then can you tell me if there is a blinking LED on the PSU (power supply unit)?

Where is the sleep button on the VGC-RB52? Is it different from the power button?

It is the same as the power button if your computer is set to sleep when you push power. I was looking too because when you go into the power options in the control panel it shows a button with a half moon as the sleep button, but I don't have that on my keyboard. So I put the question in Vaio help and it said use the power button. I guess some Vaio keyboards have a half moon button, but mine doesn't. I did notice that when I thought I had turned it off using the power button when it got hung up that it did come back up with the move of the mouse. So it really is the power button, as long as it's set that way in the control panel.
