My son pushed the sleep button on the keyboard. The computer shut down, now it won't start up. When you first hit the power button, the lights on the keyboard flash once, and the cooling fans come on. the monitor never comes on. I tried removing the memory cards and re-starting (one at a time). That didn't work. I hooked it to a different monitor... Nothing.
Try to start on safe mode
restart pc taggle F8 key see if you get options and select safe mode 3
then perform a driver roll back under device manger or system restore to earlier time
could be an update did not finish instaling creating a system error or loaded uncompatible driver in you video card
try anothe video card if you have one pci pci xpress on ecven a pci old video card could help you at least get image back in order to continue troobleshooting

In my first post I stated I had just had the power supply replaced. The lights do come on inside the computer so it's getting power, it just won't turn on.

Hello there... Check your PC's volume. You may or someone in your household has accidentally muted it. Unmute it or increase its volume (if you can't find the audio icon in the taskbar, proceed to the control panel - it's there), it maybe too low. Hope this helps... Ai :)

As long as the light is blinking, the PC does work. There should be a switch on the power supply (On the back of the case) Try flicking this on and off while the PC is connected to the power grid. Then try treboot the PC. Else, you culd try to cear the CMOS on your PC. If you don't know what that is, post the model of your motherboard, and I'll see if I can find it on pictures.

get out your operating system disc and boot from that disc. run a memory check and if possible run "fixmbr" in the repair option on the disc. you can download repair discs online just search for Ubuntu repair disc, Windows 7 repair disc, windows xp repair disc... whatever operating system you are using. free download, burn to a disc and use that to boot with in the problem computer.
