Question about Apple iPod nano

1 Answer

I accidentally washed (and dried) my ipod.

It's a 4G nano.  I washed it in a front-loading washing machine and then dried it.  I was looking for my ipod -so I could listen to music while I folded my clothes- but then I realized it was in the skirt I was wearing yesterday.  Any help is appreciated.  Thank you so much for your time!

I bought my son an iPod Nano chromatic for xmas and he ended up washing it, if we just let it sit and dry is there a chance of it working again?

Even though it got dried it's a good idea to take a blow dryer on low setting and dry the internal parts, that has worked for me in saving my electronics in the past.

Hope this helps.

It looks like your Ipod is damaged beyond repair.
If it could be repaired it maybe too expensive. I suggest you put your money towards a new Ipod.

Ipod Nano was washed in washing machine now it will not power on. Have tried putting it in rice, and putting it on a warm, not hot surface, and just letting it sit to dry out. Still nothing at all when I...

DO NOT TURN IT ON AGAIN.. l did the same thing to my iPod a while back and called Apple. Their reccomendations are to let it dry out for at least two weeks and try it again. Turning it on again while the interior may be wet could fry the circuts. It nearly killed me to go without it for that length of time but, it saved me loads of money in the long run You may have to replace the battery afterwards (water seems to kill the ability to hold a charge for long) but it seems a small price to pay. Places like Radio Shack or Batteries Plus offer a full battery replacement for about 30 bucks.

I washed my Ipod

Apple won't cover any kind of accidental damage and they will be able to tell that it was water damage if you send it in. The only thing really you can attempt is to put it in a bowl of DRY rice for 24 hours. Sometimes this will pull enough of the liquid out of the internal components. Good luck I learned that trick while working as an apple tech rep and have used the rice trick once on a cell phone and the phone works to this day

Unfortunately there is no solution since the water has messed up the LCD. Have you tried going to settings and check if the back light option is on?
