Clean the yellow brush bearings. Then run the Roomba without the dustbin, so that you can watch the brush while the unit is cleaning. Is it turning? If not, call customer support. 877-855-8593. Have your Roomba with you; they will want information from it. Good luck.

Took Roomba apart to clean and now the pick up brushes start and stop during cleaning. The vaccum is clean but will not constantly spin. Runs great but pick up brushes start and stop. Is there a number...

You can go to www.iRobot.com . This is the roomba website. You should be able to find replacement parts, customer support, videos or the Roomba product, and more.
When you cleaned your Roomba, did you also clean the wheel wells and outer most edges of the brush brush cartridges? There can be lint, threads, and at my house, cat hair, wrapped around the outermost edges of the brush cartridges.
I hope my suggestions help. If so, please contact Fixya and rate my solution.
Thanks and Good Luck!

My iRobot Roomba runs for about ten minutes, then shuts off. I can keep pushing the clean button and it will run for another ten minutes and stop again. Nothing seems to get clean.

Take the brush rolls out and you should see a copper disc. It is the dirt sensor. Clean it with Windex or some other cleaner. This works sometimes.

Irobot stops after a few minutes and says plaes

soooo, what is not understood here ?
turn it over, open brushes cage, take each brush out and clean it.
In addition, also clean the sides from any dirt/hair that may stuck in its pivots.
good luck

New Roomba 560 beep twice, ask to clean brushes, but no dirt

your roomba is thinking that you need to clean the brushes. if too much load it put on your brush motor--the unit will think that something is wrapped around the brush and slowing down the motor. if you have cleaned your brush and are sure that is not the problem; you need to look for anything else that could be slowing down the brush/motor. If this is inconclusive you need to put your roomba into diagnostic mode by following the procedures in the link below http://swiftracer.com/index.php?myPage=RoombaDiagnosticMode.php

Roomba keeps saying clean brushes yet are clean!

Make sure you take off the little cap at the end (the one that spins -- just grab it and pull it straight off) and clean under it too. The rest of the brush may look perfectly clean but what happens is that hair gets stuck under spinning cap and, like a slowly growing washer, it pushes the whole brush toward the gear box. When it gets pushed over enough, the large yellow ring starts to rub against the side of the brush deck making it harder for the motor to turn the brush and you get that "remove and clean brushes" message.

"Please clean Roombas brushes"

Same thing happened to me. After "cleaning" the brushes and emptying the filter several times, I realized that the brushes were not properly secured. One of the yellow fasteners needed to be pushed closer to the middle nearer to the brushes. It was not secured properly. When I did this it fixed my problem.

Roomba shuts down after a few minutes

The brushes are clean on the outside, but probably not inside of the little yellow contact on the end. Also the junk that collects on the brushes finds its way into the gear box. Mine kept shutting down w/ the "Please remove and clean Roomba's brushes" message. I finally gave up and took it apart. There was a surprising amount of junk in the gear box. After I got it apart, I cleaned it out and I even used a straight pin and a pair of tweezers to get all of the gunk out. Now it runs like new. I'm no mechanic, but I used to help my daddy fix things around the house. I posted my solution to the problem and it has worked for a couple of other people too.

Problems with roomba 530

before taking apart your Roomba read this!!! First to see if it is a defect or really the brushes, take the brusehs out and run roomba with out them. If you still hear the clicking/ thumping then try taking it apart or call roomba. But if the clicking/ thumping goes away when the brushes are out you're in luck! Take the brushes. The brushes have little yellow nubs... those come out. pull them out, and you will see a lot of hair waiting for you. clean all of the hair out ( tweezers are wonderful for this). Once they are cleaned out put the yellow nubs back on. Put your brushes back in and you're Roomba will be back to business in no time!!!
