Question about GE 30 in.Profile JGP940 Gas Cooktop
My jgp940 glass surface cooktop seems to leak from within, wether in use of not.
I have to fix it myself as we are 1200 miles from a dealer or any type of expert.
Problem is I cant see how to get access inside the cooktop, and don't want to break the glass upper trying.
Once inside I'm sure I can fix the leak.
What do you mean it has a leak inside? You can remove the glass top by carefully lifting it up and out of the countertop and the removing either the phillips, 1/4" or Torx screws around the lip under the glass. Pull off the knobs and the glass will s-l-o-w-l-y come up with even steady lifting force. Where gloves in case it breaks but it shouldn't as long as you don't drop in on a corner
