I can't free up space on my PQI u820 either! I erased some mp3 files and it still shows 0 Free space? I'm using a iMac OSX with Leopard. Any assistance? Do I have to reformat the drive? If so, how can I do that without making the drive unrecognizable on a pc or doing the drive harm? Don't want to kill it!

How do I erase music?

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player or delete the existing files using the USB cable connected to the computer. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable tothe MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.Click on this link for instruction on converting musicfiles to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

I cant erase the music off of it!!!

Plug the device into your PC via the USB cable, open "Computer" in Vista or "My Computer" in XP, find which removable drive it is listed under, for example G, H, I, K etc. You'll have to double click on each one of them until you find it. Once you find it, search the folders for the music you wish to erase, highlight it, right click, then click delete as you would with files on you PC that you want to erase and you're go to go.

Boot up with linux, erase partition on protable device. reboot into windows, go to control panel system administrative tools, computer management, storage, creat new partition on drive, reformat drive using software that came with your device. this should repair the problem. it worked on mine!

Cant remove music...need to remove music rights..i guess

if yours is like mine, there is a button or switch to lock all buttons when not in use. In case cat walks across screen, etc. This puts it in read only mode and won't let you erase files. drove me crazy for a while. Set it regular play mode first and should work fine. Mine did. Removes the protection from files.

Samsung K3 mp3 player

To erase a music file, you must plug the K3 into the computer, and when a window pops up that says "Open in Folder", "Open with Media Player", etc. Choose "Open in Folder" then go to "Internal Storage", then choose "Music". From there, you can delete by artist, or if you click on a folder that has an artist's name for the title, you can erase by album. From there you can erase by track by double clicking on an album folder.
To erase, right click the folder you wish to delete, and select "Delete".
