Genius G-Shot HD55 (camera) - How to get SD card working??

I havea problem with my camcorder,
when I insert my SD card nothing happens and the camcorder is still recording into internal memory!!

User manual says:
Memory status indicator
Simbol A: SD card indicator
Symbol B: Internal memory indicator

But the say nothing about how to switch from internal memory to SD card or vice versa!!
And it's always showing me Symbol B, like there is no card!!
I tried this with classic SD card, 2GB capacity.

I double checked and the card is unlocked and correctly inserted, contacts facing downward.
HELP!!

Regards,
igor

For Genius G-Shot HD55 you need to insert the SDHC card deeper into the slot until it clicks closed, like opening a pen, then when you want to remove it press it again until it clicks to release, like closing a pen. Your card is recognised after the deep click insertion and restarting the camera.

Internal memory full

Internal memory is full after you shot only a few pictures Actualy you only have 11 Megabyte free for pictures. If you want to make more pictures, you have to insert a SD memory card. Make sure you buy a SD and not a SDHC or SDXC card, because nothing in the manual says your camera is compatible with these bigger cards.
If you happen to have a SDHC card you are free to try if it works, but don't buy one unless you are sure it works.

I have a standard 2.0 GB SD card, not an HC. The camera has never used it even when inserted properly. Insert the memory card and nothing happens- nothing is displayed on the screen indicating it is in...

Hi - First off, did you try formatting the card through the camera's menu system? Did you have a smaller SD card that you used before that worked? According to the manual, which may be out of date, the camera uses up to 512 MB SD cards.

It could be that the manual was released before the larger SD cards were available or it could be a real limitation of the camera. It's hard to know, as there is little real useful information about this camera or company.

You could email their support at support@cobradigital.com and inquire about the camera's SD card limitations or call them at Technical Support: (847) 966-9590.

Good Luck,

When i try to format the SDHC 8GB memory card the recording screen display's (Waiting....) for about 1 to 2 second's, then goe's to the normal recording screen and when i push the record button it...

Hi, look here's what to do, get yourself, or access to, A Computer, and a USB SD card reader, now, insert your 8GB SD card into the reader/writer, It will show up as a HDD in My Computer, and then, Format it FAT32. Now return it to the Camcorder, when turned on again, the Camera NOW should "See" the SD card. You may even be asked if you wish to Format, again, say YES, and do so, if NOT asked that;s OK too. as, you should now be able to, in either case, be able to have access to the SD card, and can change your phone settings accordingly, the extra storage will simply be "Picked Up" by the Camcorders software.
If this doesn't happen, then there maybe a problem with THAT SD card or the Camcorder? try another SD card before thinking the camcorder has a problem though.

Sd lexar 128 mb card

when you put it in a camra does it see anything on it? what happens if you try and put something on it from your computer? flash memory does have a lifespan usually 10,000 write cycles. But if you are constantly deleting and writing to one part of the card it can go out alot sooner then you would expect. 128mb SD cards can be bought for $5 now a days go pick up a 2 gig from newegg.com for 20-30$

Plz help

remove the SD Card and the batteries. Wait for half an hour and then insert two new batteries. Do not put the SD card in as yet. (Waiting for half an hour or more allows the camera to reset itself).

Now try switching on and good luck.

SD CARD

If I remember correctly, when you insert an SD card, it "hides" the camera's internal memory. There should be an camera option for copying the files from the internal memory onto the inserted SD card. If not, you could try connecting the camera to your computer with the SD card removed, in order to access the files in the internal memory.
