I need a 2 pole half size arc fault breaker

If you are pressed for space in your panel, it would be easier to free up space in the panel by replacing some of your standard breakers with half size--or "piggy back"--breakers. The freed up space will permit you to install a standard arc fault breaker.

I want to install a cutler hammer 20amp. cuircut breaker in my home. i need instructions on how to wire it up in the breaker box. can anyone help?

20 amp 120 or 240? All 20 amps 120 must be 12 gauge wire for all connections on that circuit.. no exceptions

120- Bring wire into box securely as is done with all the other wires. Shut the breaker to "off". wire the black wire from the screw on the back of the breaker. white wire to the bar with all the other whites. copper to the same bar or separate grounding bar if available. snap breaker into place. turn breaker on

I have a residential panel with all Challenger circuit breakers with the exception of a single GE breaker. Challengers say Type C115 and GE says 15A. Can you tell me if these are compatible?

You should only use breakers listed for the panel you have Look on the inside cover of the panel and see what breaker numbers are listed. Many breakers will fit, but are not listed. They are both 15A, but you didn't indicate what brand of panel they are installed in. Most likely, the GE breaker was added,

Are you sure you have removed ? the device or circuit attached to that Breaker because it has a Short Circuit or Overload on that circuit, you MUST find the cause FIRST. There is a chance of fire etc, if you do nort find the exact cause. please be careful. I have never seen a breker trip with nothing attached? but I guess you may have two faulty ones in a row?

There are companies that specialize in used / obsolete electrical distribution equipment. Larger areas may also have "brick and mortar" stores to shop. If no such store exists near you, try googling "used GTE cicuit breaker" When I did I got a bunch of results including this one:

I have seen circuit breakers trip at a lower amperage. It seems that they are weak. Generally circuit breakers run with 80% load with no problem, in your case 24 amps. I would replace the circuit breaker.
