How to change a fuse in a GE Spacemaker XL Microwave

  • 1 Remove the old fuse from the compartment that the control panel was covering by grasping it and pulling it out. Place a new fuse in the compartment and push it firmly into the holder until it snaps into place. Connect the wires to the control panel according to the labels.
  • 2 Place the control panel on the microwave and install the retaining screw with the Phillips screwdriver. Install the grill on the microwave and snap it into place. If your microwave grill has retaining screws, install those and tighten them using a Phillips screwdriver. Plug the power cord in for the microwave or turn the power on at the breaker box and program the microwave according to manufacturer instructions

Installed timer and I'm getting breaker pop. I've tried several different ways to wire and it keeps poping the breaker. GE Replacement Timer 15600

    1) If you are replacing T103, the T103 can be wired many different ways. Not all wiring diagrams are supported by GE 15600 replacement timer that fits into Intermatic box.

    2) Double check your T103 terminals
    T103 terminals should be A 1 2 3 4
If terminals 3 and 4 have wires, then GE is not correct replacement.
You can buy repair parts for Intermatic timer
    http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html#T103

    3) GE has terminals 1 and L which are connected by brass bridge. If brass bridge is removed, add a jumper wire and connect terminals 1 and L
    GE has terminals 1-L X 2

    4) Typical GE 15600 wiring shows on following link, in addition to links for parts and manual:
    http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#15306

White wires on terminal A connect to terminal X
Black wire on terminal 1 connects to terminal 1
Black wire on terminal 2 connects to terminal 2

Calculating necessary breaker size using ohms laws, says 3000 watts at 240 volts would use 12.5 amps and most range circuit breakers are 30 amp so it should be find

I have a 2006 f-150 1/2 ton extn cab. the electric windows quit working. I am convinced it is a fuse on the main feed. Where is the fuse for the windows and what size ? The electric locks work fine.

There is a 30 amp circuit breaker. The concept of the circuit breaker is to "pop" when there is an overload but is supposed to reset after a bit. That is not always the case or you could have a short in the wiring of the windows cicuit which also includes the rear sliding light. If that is the case of course it will keep "popping" But like I said I have seen them get weak and just replaced them. The location of that circuit breaker is in the passenger compartment fuse panel. It will be in the number 401 position. I gave you a diagram of the fuse layout below. I hope this helps and good luck.

My SM11 model Steamist was installed above our shower/steam room. It is 2 years old. While in use recently, it made a loud sound like a low-pitch popping sound or low boom. Imagine somebody inside a...

The heating elements had burned up in the unit therefor creating a dead short on that circuit. Main breakers on homes and buildings are VERY sensitive and will sometimes trip before the smaller branch cicuit breakers will . So the popping you heard was the heating elements breaking down inside the unit it can be some what noisy.

I am replacting my T104 timer with a GE 15601. The posts on the T104 are marked 1 2 3 4. However on the 15601 they are marked L 1 X 2. How do these map to each other?

GE 15601 is a replacement module for Intermatic timers.
Intermatic timers can snap inside the old box without needing to replace the box, and GE has made a product that taps into that market.

But the GE manual is missing key facts like clock voltage and wiring.

The following information is correct ONLY if the GE timer is rated for 240Volts Why? The T-104 is a 240V timer. I have 10 different Intermatic timers on my office shelves right now, and wrote the T-104 page linked to above.

Below is picture of the back of GE timer taken from GE manual.

    8d3440e.jpg

Please look at the image as a reverse image of your wiring poles.
    T104 has poles A 1 2 3 4
Black wire on Intermatic Pole 1 is the Hot from Breaker
Black wire on Intermatic Pole 2 is the Black to Load
White wires on Intermatic Poles 3 and 4 are the White from breaker and White to Load. So on the GE timer, 2 white wires are on same pole.

On the GE timer, there is a brass connector between 2 of the Poles that connects those poles electrically, so no wire goes on one of the GE Poles

    That's the wiring changeover.
Up-vote if the information helped you.

I NEED A CIRCUIT BREAKER IT HAS GTE SYLVANIA, ON IT WITH #8-176 CLASS A, HRGF. E 51616, R 10,000 A 120 VAC 60 N 2 CTL. PLEASE CAN YOU HELP ME LOCATE ONE OF THESE?

There are companies that specialize in used / obsolete electrical distribution equipment. Larger areas may also have "brick and mortar" stores to shop. If no such store exists near you, try googling "used GTE cicuit breaker" When I did I got a bunch of results including this one:

30 amp 2 pole GE GFCI breaker pops on hot tub after hrs of use

I have seen circuit breakers trip at a lower amperage. It seems that they are weak. Generally circuit breakers run with 80% load with no problem, in your case 24 amps. I would replace the circuit breaker.
