Question about Acer Aspire L100 PC Desktop

1 Answer

Failing to boot up

I have the same problem on my pc which has been working fine until very recently when it suddenly "died". The blue "on" switch is lit but there is no other sign or sound of power in the hard drive. Do you know what might be wrong?

I would suspect the power supply. They burn up a lot.

ok two places to check

on bottom right of screen(desktop) there should be a speaker icon click on that to ensure it is not muted

2. start button control panel sound icon

click and check to see if settings are ok

do those first and let me know results.

Blue screen fatal system error c000026c

this is indicative of a driver problem, start tapping the f8 key @ boot and then boot the pc into safe mode with networking. once there, either try and do a system restore to before it failed, or simply go to device manager and uninstall any drivers you recently updated. if none of that helps after a reboot, you could always go nuts and uninstall all your device drivers, and then reboot and reinstall them one at a time until you find the culprit.

Hi, I have a HP dv2700 laptop. It has been working fine for about 3 years until recently when it suddenly stopped working. At the moment I see the blue light around the power connector blinking all the...

usually three flashes indicates a problem with the memory. I would take out both chips or one if you've only got one ;)

You'll see a panel for memory on the bottom of the laptop, carefully remove both modules, and try booting with just one, if it doesn't work in the first slot, try the second, if neither works repeat with the other module.

Let me know what happens.!

Do you mean the F8 key which is what gets you to safe mode. You must keep tapping the button as you switch on and keep tapping until you see a new screen, select the hard drive you wish to boot to and keep tapping then it opens black screen grey corners, you really should check all you connections  before you try to switch the machine on.Common cause  for blue screen (hardware) loose ide /sata cable to harddrive, pull out and push back tight, check the same for power cable to drive, if not hardware then it will be software, so you should remove any recent drivers or programs you recently installed by going into safe mode, then try to start normally.Failing all of the above you may have caught a virus or malware, malwarebytes is a good start to check the system for probs.Good luck!!

Blue screen after less than 5 minutes after boot-up. IALMRNT5 error.

Try booting in safe mode and try system restore, by clicking on start>All prog>accessiories>system tools>system restore. and restore the system to an earlier time when it was working fine.

Compaq Presario V6000 Power Problem

Sounds like the power supply might have died, probably before the battery did. Once the battery had run down, the computer simply died. Easiest way to check this would be to take it to a computer shop - they shouldn't charge you very much just to check the power supply - or try to locate another supply just like it and see if the computer will boot from the new power supply.

StorStation fails to boot up - blue screen of death

The beeping alarm could have been overheating. You could try taking the HDD out and putting it in a workstation to run chkdsk on it. Incidently what operating system does this model use? I have an FSV-E1 which seems to run some Unix type system.
