Click start control panel view devices and printers you should see your web cam from there image devices you could see a yellow question mark ? right click to reinstall drivers or update driver
if you are have trouble with your web cam
click start control panel administrative tools ,computer management ,device manager scroll down

sounds like the camera wires are broken. you would have to take apart the screen portion of the laptop to see if it is connected still. you would then have to splice the wires together if they are broken/damaged

try to start the interface of webcam using :
1. start menu > programs > chicony webcam
2. open C: drive > program files > chicony webcam and double-click "chicony.exe" file

This is a common problem on laptops. It generally means
the webcam or the webcam cable is faulty and needs to be replaced. The only way

Before you try replacing the webcam you could try updating the driver,
