Hello jarkk, I believe your problem is with your backlight inverter. the hard drive should be installed for this process of checking it on an external monitor. with the hard drive removed it will not boot to the operating system. with the drive in, use the external monitor. if the monitor works when plugged into the external monitor plug, this will eliminate a bad video card. if the screen is still black on the laptop screen, replace your backlight inverter. the last case cenario is to make sure your backlights are not burnt out.

plz try to boot in safe mode run check disk and then boot normally, if the problem arises then try by repairing the operating system. plz post your findings

what system are you putting on ? windows 7 ?what specification of hard drive have you installed ?
xp..seagate 160gb...when I got to the boot sequence its like theres 2 sets of sequences, never seen it before an any other computer I've ever done.
its NOT a SATA
At the top :CD-ROM Boot....enable or disenable,Floppy boot...enable or disenablee
internal network adapter boot ..enable or disable, boot mode..PXE or RPL
multiboot..enable or disable..then it goes into the boot orders:notework multibay,usb cdrom,usb floppy,usb superdisk,notebook harddrive,usb harddrive,network controller
oops its.. notebook multibay.. not.. notework..
Restart your computer During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key this will vary depending on your computer and operating system Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart this will load the boot order to its default status
until I can can get the boot sequence right I can't do nothing
yes thst would be correct failsafe would be the best option because you have changed the boot order to cd rom if there is no cd in the cd drive it should boot from the hard drive but computers can be tempermental things since you have changed the hard drive leads me to power and or data leads connecting you might have to try it a few times to get it to remember
