Question about Brother MFC 420CN All-In-One InkJet Printer
One or more of the printer head jets are probably clogged. You can keep trying the printer's cleaning sessions to see if it eventually unclogs that way, or you can try to manually clean the print head jets. Do a Google search for your printer's disassembly instructions to find out how to reach the print head, then use alcohol and lint-free cloth to soak and clear the jets. I'm not sure for this printer, but I've seen for Epsons and others cleaning cartridges that have cleaning fluid instead of ink. When you run a cleaning session or a print job with the cartridge(s) installed, the fluid gets sucked through the print tubes and jets and cleans them out. The cleaning fluid is usually some type of solvent that breaks down ink, especially that which may have dried out and clumped and blocked tubing or jets.

Check to make sure nothin is jammed in your printer. I had that happen to me, either my kids or my cat got something small stuck in the printer and it created a blank horizontal line down the page. Hope it's something that simple!!
