Question about Microsoft Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties for Windows

1 Answer

Computer games hestitate frequently.

Last 2-3 years been getting worse. Most games seem affected. I'll play a game and after a few minutes of play it will pause - for just a few seconds - accompanied by a echoing of the sounds last hear. Then it 'releases' for more play, then pauses again, etc. etc.

My computer is old (5 years) so maybe I have some hardware wearing out? or do I need to free up some RAM?

This is due to using outdated hardware. Its not necessarily any one thing. Sure, more RAM and a new video card (even an upgraded processor if possible with your main board) will help. But if your computer is 5 years old, you need a new one for gaming purposes.

I've seen your problem countless times, and if you don't have an upgradeable computer, or its a name brand pc, you will need a newer one.

The reason it seems to get worse, is that #1, your hardware just gets older as time goes on, and #2, games become more sophisticated, resource intensive, and have higher system requirements.

Your computer can no doubt handle a lot of things without issue, but games, anything video intensive, or that require a high % of RAM, processor usage, or video usage are going to give you problems.

Make sure your hardware isnt getting too hot.
I've your CPU reaches 90 degrees, its gonna shutdown your computer, in order to protect itself from dying.

Try reading your hardware degrees using SpeedFan.

When i play Oblivion on Playstation 3, the game freezes. i have been playing for five months now. The problem has just started in the last few weeks and is getting worse. the game is becoming unplayable.

Many games like Oblivion or Fallout have a tendency to crash at times. It is a problem that many gamers face, and usually cannot be helped. The only advice I can give is to stay patient and save regularly!Hopefully Skyrim will be more stable :D

Hello there Anton,

This is a very common issue with PSPs. I myself have experience this a lot with my PSP. This is when you have just recently installed a NEW game on the PSP. That particular game is somewhat corrupted. Just uninstall this game and everything will be fine again.

Id appreciate if you let me know how this goes. Thank you for using FixYa.

Registration of the trophy information could not

Here’s what’s going on right now: something with the PS3’s internal clock has borked in some pre-slim models. This is not a PSN issue; it has to do with your PS3’s clock. This clock is NOT related to the OS clock. It seems to be a leap year bug. Setting your clock ahead will do nothing. All PS3s around the world were affected at the exact same time.
Does this affect me?
-If you have a Slim PS3, you’re good to go. Continue playing it as normal.
-If you have a “fat” PS3, you may be affected. Some fat PS3s have worked ok, but it seems a good majority have been bugged.
What does this bug mean?
-If affected, your date and time has been set to a random past date. This prevents you from signing into PSN, playing any PSN games, or using any DLC. Your trophies will also not display correctly or be able to sync.
How do I fix it?
-You can’t. Even if you don’t sign into PSN, it won’t help. This is a hardware issue.
So, what do I do?
-Wait 24 hours. Other products that have had similar bugs have corrected themselves after the “bugged” day. On Monday around 6pm central time, all PS3s will automatically correct themselves…maybe.
-If that doesn’t work, we’ll need a firmware update from Sony, which should be a pretty important priority for them right now.
Did I lose my data/themes/etc?
Your save data/games/dlc/themes are fine. They’ll be fixed when the PS3 is fixed. Trophies are uncertain right now, but they’ll be fine if you’ve synced them before the PS3 was bugged. Unsynced trophies are an unknown right now.
If I have a bugged PS3, can I still use it?
It’s probably not a good idea, as I have no idea what will happen to the trophies you earn during the bugged time. Movies/media will work fine.

Three red lights means your 360 is dying.
Hopefully it's still under warranty - and keep in mind that Microsoft extended the warranty for the 3 red light issue to 3 years, instead of just one. So if you bought it within the last 3 years, just call Xbox customer service at 1-800-4MY-XBOX. Be prepared to be on hold for a while. I believe you can also do this online.
They will send you a box and packing instructions, and they even pay for the shipping. Once you send it, you should get it back in about 2 weeks (or more likely a new 360).
