Question about Motorola Mobility W385 Cellular Phone
Last night, my phone died while I was talking on it. It had started beeping a few minutes earlier, and I plugged it in at that time. I figured I'd turn it back on, let it charge all night, and it would be good. No such luck. When I woke up this morning, I found that it was dead again. I turned it back on, only to have it die about two minutes later (I was not using it, just letting it charge), and I tried turning it on again. All that came up was the motorola screen, and then it shut off again.
I am now worried that it won't work again, because it needs to be on to charge, but if it won't turn on, how can I charge it?
I have suspicions that the outer screen (with the clock on it & such) is to blame for draining the battery while charging.
Please help? Thanks so much.
You're on the right track. First check the charging port carefully. If it works intermittently, it's probably shot. If it's shot, the phone is shot. If it's okay, replace the battery. They're dirt cheap on Ebay.

The issue is probably not the battery but the charging port. I'm having the same issue. I happen to have Motorola Phone Tools on my computer. It works with the W385 but sometimes doesn't recognize the phone. Battery has 2 bars. If I wiggle the cord, it will recognize it. Then 4 seconds later, lose the connection. I already replaced this phone 5 months ago for the same issue.
I think the problem is the charging port is not working.

It might be because its an old battery. I had a phone for 3 years and everytime I took it off the charger maybe 20 minutes later it'd be down a bar or two. You should try taking it to the place you bought it and ask them.
Hope this helped
