Problem for Philips 30PF9975 30 in. HDTV LCD Television

I could not find my tv model so I listed it under this model. I have a 30pw9815 Philips Flat screen TV that wont turn on. It has a yellow stand by light that is usually on when the tv is off. Today the yellow stand by light was flashing red. I called Philips and they said it was a power problem and to have it serviced? Any suggestions?

More than likely it is a power supply type problem and could have multiple components bad. They are no fun to work on either, so I would either have it serviced (Expect $250-400) or replace it as the price of this size set has decreased dramically the last few months. To get a feel for what brands are more reliable, check out the last few issues of Consumer reports at your local library.
