If the machine didnt finish the cycle due to the pump being clogged the door will remained locked also if the lock mechanism went bad, the machine will stay locked. Remove the top of the machine by taking the screws from the top back out. Once removed look down the right hand side and you'll see the lock mechanism, usually with a plastic tab you pull to manually release the lock.
Firstly, lets start simple. Have you noticed the door lever/handle has got "floppy"? or loose? or easy to squeeze? This is the most common reason, what happens is there are 2 bits of spring steel behind the handle, these either break or become weak, to test this theory, close the door, put your finger between the handle and the door and push the handle towards the glass, if this works then you need a new spring/handle. Please let me know, Please rate my help.
If the door locked light is flashing then you probably have a control module problem.
You could try a new door lock but I don't think this will solve the problem..
Make sure the door is shut properly, and that the door catch is o/k.
Plz rate this solution.
First switch off the power.
Get the cabinet door off, start by removing the side screws that hold the door (please have someone to help you, holding the door, because this doors are heavy.)
After you removed the door, remove the screws holding the fascia (about 2 on each side + 2 holding the door lock).
Remove the fascia and you wil get acess to the door lock, disconnect the wiring from the micro switch, connect the new par and reverse the process.
The interlock has jammed, first try gently pushing the door frame on the latch side of the door and then hit the outer door frame with your fist, not too hard but a reasonable bang this may release the door, if this works spray a lubricant into the latch hole in the panel, open and close the door a few times before reusing, if this fails then you have to force the door open, the best way is to remove the lid and manouver the door lock from the inside, either the lock or the latck will eventually break, this is unavoidable, then replace the interlock and any other broken part.
