some amps like the 6 watt output others don't .Since its a new model radio it may like the 6 watts too.I would question the people you intend on getting this amp from as to whether or not your radio will like those high watts or not and what would he recommend. I have checked around and some techs are looking for a manual for this radio as I am .

I want to wire my superstar dm452 power echo mic to my realistic trc 465 am ssb and need to know what color goes to what pin?

its a 5 pin which all radshack radios are and they are all,99% anyway, wired the same . So take an old radshak mic apart at the plug and see how it is wired then experiment from there.

Is the radio an SSB radio? Then standard 4 amp is plenty, if AM 4 watts 2 amp is fine.

Probably VR 10 on that radio. You are not really de-tuning the radio, just reducing the carrier power on AM. If you're driving something else, You may also want to adjust VR 11 for a reduction on SSB

No Modulation!!

Most modulation problem could be traced to:
1. mic or the cable and/or the mic connector;
2. AMC (amplitude modulation control) - it's a single transistor that regulates modulation and occasionally has been known to clamped on the mic audio;
3. the AM/SSB switch - spraying with contact cleaner is a temporary remedy; and/or
4. audio amp - however if your receive audio is good, then this does not apply.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Without a model number, I can't be more specific as to component(s) or PCB location but pls post back for any developments (or lack thereof) or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kindest regards.
