Question about Insignia NS-27RTV 27" TV

2 Answers

I lost my remote and am unable to change the input on my tv. So I cannot get to my DVD player or any other device because I cannot figure out how to change the input. I tried getting a new remote and all the controls work except for the input button. Is there any way I can change the input by using the buttons on my tv?

How do i connect dvd to tv?

there are usually two or three connections used by modern players, HDMI (http://www.pctechnologiesusa.com/catalog/images/COUHDMIFF.jpg) component(http://supply2build.com/uploads/categories/Component-Video.jpg) and composite (the yellow video in last link) you connect the device to your tv with a compatible cable between the two and change the tv to the proper input. The tv will usually have labels on the back to tell you which input is being used. If you have an audio amplifier then you must refer to your manual to figure out the proper pass though.

HOW DO I DO CONNECTIONS OF INCOMING CABLE AND DIGITAL ADAPTER TO TV, VCR, AND DVD PLAYER?

Without seeing the exact connections for each device, i'm going to have to guess. But you should be able to connect your VCR to either your tv directly or to your DVD player. Remember you will need to use the "input" button on your TV or DVD player remote to switch from cable tv to your VCR and back.

When I switch on the unit, i can hear the sound but there is no picture

Hi! Welcome to Fixya!

If you are unable to view video on your television set, the issue may be that the TV's video input selection does not match.

The TV input source must match how the device for example DVD player is connected to the TV. At the back of Samsung's LN40A650A HDTV are three HDMI inputs, plugs for component input, an antenna input for the DTV receiver and a VGA input. Please check on what port the device is plug.

To correct the issue, use the TV's remote control and change the video input selection.
  • Press the Menu button on the remote control and navigate to TV Input
  • Only ones that are actually connected are highlighted and available.
  • If there are multiple device connected please make sure you select the device you want to connect.
You may also check if all cables are properly connected.

Thank you.

I lost the instructions. Can you tell me what to do watch a cd or dvd?

As long as your cables are all connected, on your remote you need to change SOURCE or INPUT to change what device is sending the info to your TV. Make sure your DVD is on. The CD/DVD should auto start. If not, just push play on either the remote or the device. Then when you are done push the Input or Source button again to switch your TV back to TV Mode. Hope that helps.

Unable to get remote to switch to tv/video RCA remote tv is sanyo

It took me forever to figure it out. Press the input key, just below the 9. The TV channel should be on 3. Make sure you put your DVD in and press play manually, so you can see that it is on.

Hope that helps

Can't play dvd player on JVC tv; I don't have a JVC remote.

I hooked up a Pioneer DVD player to my TV and when I play a DVD the volume cannot be controlled by the TV. It just plays at one level and on the louder side. When I'm watching regular TV and the DVD player is on and playing a disc I start to hear the DVD soundtrack at the same time as the whatever I'm watching on TV. I should not be able to hear anything until I switch over to Video 1. Any suggestions?

I have this same TV. The DVD player is either hooked up to the video or s-video input. Go to the Menu (either through the remote or from the front of the TV) and select the Setup option. Go to the part where it asks if you want to use a DVD player. Select yes. Then select Video Input. Exit the Setup. When you hit the DVD button, it will switch to the Video input. The second step is to go into the Menu and select Channel, then go to Video Input Source. From there, select which input you are using for your DVD player, the S-Video or the standard Video (yellow composite cable).

Connecting my tv and vcr so i can use the vcr remote control

You can always push "03" on a universal remote programmed to work your TV. A better solution is to connect the devices properly. You shouldn't use the tuner inputs for a VCR/DVD player, or you will get a poorer picture and no stereo sound. See the instruction manual for your player and TV. Use a stereo audio/video cable to connect them and select the proper input. The instructions will hopefully clarify this.
