Question about GE 24 in. Profile PDW9200J Built-in Dishwasher

Power outtage blues

Dishwasher worked fine until it was in the middle of the drying cycle and we had a power outtage. When power came back on, dishwasher now makes an ringing alarm sound that is very annoying. Keypad is dead. Nothing else seems to work. Tried to put it in test mode via the instructions found on the tech sheet. Nothing happens. Only way to stop the ringing sound is to shut off circuit breaker. Any ideas? last night we had a power outage and when the power came on our G.E. Profile PWD9200 dishwasher stated making a high pitched sound and also there is no display on the touch pad.

Hello daniedag,
Unfortunately, your dishwasher may have experienced a power surge when the power went off and dmaged some internal components or the control logic. There is no way of knowing the extent of your problem without a thorough diagnostics to it. It could be something as simple as a circuit borad component, stuck relay but this kind of repair is probably not something you would want to tackle yourself unless properly trained and with the proper test equipment. If you have homeowners insurance, it may cover the damage.. If not, then a service call is most likely required. Here is a link to the GE website for yopur dishwasher but your model is not PWD9200 and IS PDW9200 http://genet.geappliances.com/DocSearch/Dispatcher

Hope this helps..
Regards,
Rick

Viking dishwasher VUD040 keeps tripping the circuit breaker during drying cycle

Are you sure the breaker is big enough to carry the Amps needed to start the drying cycle. You know that due to inductance it takes almost twice as many amps to start a motor as it does to run it.Find out how many Watts it uses and divide it by 120VAC and it will give the maximum amps it will draw. See if the breaker is high enough amp for it. A 25 Amp breaker should be efficient. I hope this helps you and if I can help you in anyway in the future let me know.

Hi, I have an BOSH dishwasher SGV4313gb/17. It is about 8yrs old and has worked fine until last week when it did not complete its cycle. Have reset and it seems to complete cycle but I don't think it...

Are you using a rinse aid? if so and teh dishes are still not drying properly, try adjusting the setting for the rinse aid dispenser. Open the door of the dishwasher, open the flap where you pour in the rinse aid and look for the cirlce with the arrow and nunbers on it. If it is set low (1 or 2) try turning the arrow to a higher number. If that adjustment doesn't work, increase again and again until the dishes are dry.

Cycle runs too long

long cycle most likely a heater problem.. or thermo problem.. to check heat run a cycle open the door in the middle of the cycle. is a lot of steam coming out... the dishwasher has to get to 70c to advance...if it is hot .then you could have a thermo that is not telling the control to advance the thermo holds the the dishwasher until the temp reaches 70c before it will let it go into the next cycle...the thermo is under the dishwasher at the right side, white with two wires .. it screws into the tub...hope it helps it not let me know and I can help you more.

Whirlpool quiet partner III clean light blinking green

you have to hit heated dry and normal and toggle these till all the lights light up. then hit cancel . you are going to have to turn the power of and slide the dishwasher out and look directly behind the dishwasher you will see that a wire off of the heater is more than likly burned of repair the wire you should be fine. replug dishwasher in after wire is repaired. if you do not have a burned wire you have a bad heating element replace the element.
