Do not attempt to even open the zune because if it's new and it has a warranty and if you open it, it voids the warranty. and you could wreck it. bring it to where it was purchased an ask them if the warranty covers it if it has one.

80Gb Zune battery

Since your Zune is old and you have charged it more then a couple hundred times, your battery is loosing charge and so the only way to fix it is obviously buying a new battery. Zune 120GB owner.

Some Zunes you can change out the battery if you can take an airduster and blow it out thourouly. If that dosnt work then try to plug it up to the computer and try to reformat it. good luck

Blac screen after the zune turns on

Hi, It is one of two things. You have a dead battery or your Zune has had a software crash. Make sure your batteries are charged then try it again. If it still does it you will need to contact Microsoft for possible repair.

Microsoft Zune flashing screen

The Zune flashes like that because it doesn't get any supporting power from the battery. Power from the USB cord is not enough to fire it up, usually a battery replacement will get it up and running again. There is a zune repair guide online that shows how to replace the battery.
