Question about RCA TH1602 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Player won't play Files in Order

I recently purchased the 2 GB RCA Pearl.  I'm listing to some Audio book mp3's.  They are all numbered in order of chapters.  When I turn on the Pearl it does not play them in order. It jumps all around. I did check to see if the shuffle option was set on, and it wasn't. When I plug it in and check what's on the player they are all in order like they are supposed to be.  Any other ideas?

Ok what you can do is add each chapter in favorites (must add in order) it takes a bit of patients but it works for me on my pearl... better than having to jump around hope this helps :)

Audiobook tracks out of order

Manual is available online at RCA's website if it has been misplaced:

Turn shuffle off - p.16 of your manual - to get songs to play in sequential rather than random order.

For Audiobooks - p. 13 of manual:
Press M twice to enter Home menu. To play
music files, highlight “Music”(or "Audiobooks"
to play audible files) by pressing or .
Then press to advance.

Shuffles music

If shuffle is off and repeat is off, then select the restore factory defaults option and see if that works. If it is still not working, call RCA the manufacturer or edit each ID3 tag track number manually (takes time).

RCA TH1100A track order problems

Here's how I resolved the Play-Order Problem with my TH1101A using Windows Exporer:
1. I put every file (MP3 and WMA) in one folder on my computer.
2. I renamed the files 001.mp3, 002.mp3, etc in the order I want them to play.
3. On the FOLDER, Right click - Properties - Customize Tab
4. In dropdown, change to "Documents (for any file type), click Apply
5. General Tab, "Advanced..." button - UNcheck "For fast searching, allow Indexing..."
6. then click "OK" "Apply" "OK" to exit folder properties.
7. In explorer, all the files in the right pane should be sorted by name in proper order.
8. Copy the files to the Pearl.
This worked for me, but of course, I can't guarantee anything.
