When this problem started I had to press on and off the PC switch one or two times then it will start. I cleared the CMOS a few times but did not work. Then the number of opening and closing increased and I had to leave the computer open for a few hours then off and open quickly and if lucky it will boot. Now nothing is working no booting, no display it just checks the DVD, the floppy and the hard disk then stop.

No, it is a motherboard processor socket problem, repairable only with a new motherboard. Can you give me motherboard details to compdoctor2005@btinternet.com

I have just installed a 478 socket MSI MS-6526 ver 3 motherboard to my computer and all it dose is bleeps when i turn it on any help would be apricated

check for the error beep if you hear continues beep it means issue with the memory. check the RAM if it is properly inserted to the slots and if it is compatible to the motherboard. if you hear 2 or 3 beeps it means issue with the video. your video card maybe not compatible or not properly inserted to the slot. your motherboard has a built in VGA/Video card try using that first. try connecting the main components memory/RAM, power supply, KB and mouse, VGA card(optional you have a built-in) then check if there is a display or if it booted. then one by one add your other components you want to add. just to trace the problem.

Can i use ddr2 ram in my pc inplace od ddr1 i cn purchase pc 07?

Hey there, Check for the slots given on your motherboard, whether all the slots are same; However a motherboard can support only one type of module either DDR1 or DDR2. your motherboard has only DDR1 slots. You cannot upgrade DDR1 to DDR2 cause the Memory Module or notches are different than eachother. Gimme Acknowladgement by rating me. Thanx - Romy Decostza

sir usually in beeping its either you have a damage peripherals so it will not work and have you recently place new cards or hardware on your board? if you did or not please remove all hard ware and carefully place them back again and make sure that they will contact on their corresponding pins, then try plug it again, and make sure that all of your hard ware are in good condition and no damage even one. please try this solution please send us your feed back thank you and fixya..

Ram problem

OK 3 beeps indicates memory failure - specifically the first 64K but that is not surprising.

Have you tried to put the 256M RAM in slot 1 and the 512M in slot 2?

If this does not work try the following.

There is NO "load optimised" option in this BIOS according to the MANUAL

refer pages 42 - 45 of the manual and remove the BIOS battery and check it is OK. the voltage should be 3VDC. IF not replace it.

Removing the BIOS battery for a few minutes will clear the BIOS and reset to default settings.

You will need to go into BIOS and set date/time.

Please post results so I may assist further if required

Intel 845 chipset mother board no reaction - expecting solution

Hi,
this is normal No-Ram. No-Beep.
The ram is all part of the bios analysis beep codes.
install memory, and setup the board to the manufacturers specification.
1 beep at post is normal on many bioses.
