My Hotpoint UY46 main oven overheats

If your oven is burning everything, it is getting too hot. Therefore the heater is working but the thing that measures the temperature is not. This is called the thermostat and there will be two types, one for each oven.
Google search for Hotpoint UY46 thermostat, there are plenty of suppliers. Make sure you get the correct one for the oven that is burning.
They are about 20-30 pounds to buy and generally easy to change. Just make sure the power is turned off before working on the oven and be careful of sharp edges as it is easy to get cut when removing panels.

The symptoms you describe are an indication that the fan motor is in imminent danger of breaking down altogether.
You need to replace it as soon as possibe, otherwise you will end up with the element burning itself out, thus doubling the cost of repair.

replace the tempt prob as if the control was bad the other oven would not respond . there is probe in each oven to tell the prosser what tempt they are running at . if one prob failes no info is sent to the prosser . ( replac it mm .. )

keep turning the oven/grill selector past the temperature settings, it feels like it won't go any further but it does!

Ypu need to replace faulty main oven thermostat, as it is obviously not controlling the temperature.

If the display is flashing auto, then you need to reset it to manual, otherwise oven will not work,
The grill should still work regardless..If you have your handbook, refer to (What if something goes wrong).

While it is flashing auto ,you will not get the oven to heat up.
You must press the timer buttons in the correcf sequence to cancel auto.Refer to user hand book.
If you suceed with this, and the oven still does not get hot, then the element has probably failed.

hi there as long as your supply to the cooker is ok the problem can only be one of two things the mains terminal block burnt out or the overheat cutout has blown at the back of the cooker
