I just bought my Gateway M465e notebook from a pawn shop for my son and I have no idea how to reboot it to it's original state as it just came out of the box. It has a bunch of things thats not needed to...

berrizzle,
If your Gateway has XP as the operating system your only chance is to use system restore; which works great. However the odds of their being a restore point save that far back is slim. You can try the earliest restore point save to see what will appear. You could also try calling Gateway and asking them to send you the restore CD; just tell them whatever they need to hear to get the CD. The lesson learned from this sale: do not ever buy a computer without it coming with its operating system CD! You just purchased the hardware, no software.

Since its for your son the best option is a full reinstall of a operating system, which would make it like new with nothing hiding for him to find. You can always buy an XP system CD online like at eBay for fairly cheap. Then you can reinstall the system if you ever need too. If you plan on doing a reinstall you need to make sure you read up on it online (it is fairly simple) and get the necessary drivers for your models internal comments from the Gateway web site under support>downloads and drivers.

I hope this will stear you in the right direction. If this helps please rate the answer, Thanks.

My laptop will freeze and i have to cut it off to work again how do i set it back to the first time i got it?

The process to restore laptops depends on the model of your manufacturer. Some like HP, you can recover the unit by hitting F10, others you have to have recovery cds to return it to original .
You may just need to defragment the hard drive, remove the cookies, Temp files and Temporary Internet Files. Download Index.dat Analyzer and CCleaner and run them Then defrag your hard drive.
Hope this helps.

Someone have put a code in my sons ipod and he does not know what the code is so can not unlock ipod to listen to music

Unfortunately, you need to restore your son's iPod to remove that passcode-lock. That proceed will remove all data in the iPod. Follow these steps and you'll be all good:
  1. Plug/connect your device to a computer (PC or Mac)
  2. Turn it OFF
  3. Press and hold the POWER and HOME buttons together for EXACTLY 10seconds
  4. Release the POWER button but keep holding the HOME button until the computer beeps indicating that a USB device is recognized.
  5. Open iTunes and restore your device.

Again, restoring will delete all data on your son's iPod, but this is the only way for you to recover it.

If you don't get it at first, try holding the buttons for lesser time or see the other procedures on my tip (link below):

I want to recover my computer so its like brand new but dont have the recovery CD, where can i get it.

If you mean that your computer is still working but you want it like it was when you first got it ..

If you are using windows XP ... go to START.
ALL PROGRAMS
Choose ACCESSORiES

Then SYSTEM TOOLS
Click on RESTORE

From the menu choose 'restore my computer to an earlier time' .. you can choose from dates, which are highlighted in bold.

Choose the earliest date.
Then click on 'restore' and let the computer do what it has to...

You will lose all programs that were installed since that date (except the operating system of course).

When finished, go back to system tools and choose 'defrag'. Let the computer do what it has to do.
