Question about LG Prada KE850 Cellular Phone

External Memory Card Not Recognised

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} I have tried a number of various sized memory cards (1GB, 2GB) in my phone, made by various companies, and cannot get the phone to recognise any of them.

One memory card that the phone did recognise (1GB) allowed me to use it for about one week, and then stopped recognising it. I formatted the memory card in my digital camera, (as I could not format it in my phone as it wasn't recognising it) put it back in the phone, where I was able to access it for about 20 mins before it stopped recognising it.

I'm really stuck on what the problem is, as it is defiantly not a faulty memory card. Please help :(

I bought a 4GB memory car to replace the 256MB the LG Prada phone came with. When I changed the cards over it would not recognise the new card. I thought that maybe the card faulty so put the origional one back in. It now wont recognise this one either.

It sounds like your phone's card reader is broken or has debris inside.
To clear debris, use a blast of air to the socket to clean it.
If your card reader is shot, you need to replace the controller.  If the phone is under warranty, get it replaced.

The C310 will accept SD cards up to 2GB in size and SDHC cards up to 32 GB. 1GB SD cards are getting hard to find, but 2GB cards should work just as well.

BTW, FixYa doesn't have an online store.

Since this digital camera is an older model, it probably isn't compatible with 2GB memory cards. Older electronic devices including card readers, camcorders, MP3 players and even older laptops with built-in card readers won't be able to use higher-capacity cards. Try using a 1GB memory card in your camera and if it works, then 1GB is the maximum size of memory card you can use on that camera.

You may use any SD card up to 2GB in size. Make sure you don't try larger SDHC cards, as they won't work.

Memory card will not format

No. The maximum size of memory card supported by this model is 1GB microSD type only. So it wont recognize your 2 GB memory card.

Size of sd card

Hey there harad82, many digital cameras have difficulty formatting and thus difficulty recognising larger size memory cards. This limitation is due to the date of design of the camera, and the only recent availability of the larger memory cards. Also the processor power onboard many cameras is quite limited and cannot handle too much information, such as when one of these cards begins to fill. This can result in lost data. I would suggest you try one before purchasing, perhaps a friend can help with a loner or you can check your cameras specs for limitations on card size. The smaller size cards (512mb or less) rarely cause these difficulties. If you need help with specs please respond with your camera make and model#. Good Luck!
