From AMD: "This is he ATI Radeon Catalyst Display Driver version 7.10 For WindowsXP/MCE, released by Advanced Micro Devices(AMD). This release updatesthe AMD Display Driver to version 8.401, supports all Radeon Desktopproducts(ATI Radeon9550/9600/9700/9800/X300/X550/X600/X700/X800/X850/X1300/X1600/X1650/X1800/X1900/X1950/HD2400/HD 2600/HD 2900 XT). This unified driver has been further enhancedto provide the highest level of power, and reliability."
You must uninstall the current driver and reinstall the driver for the 9800 Pro first: http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html Power supply recommended is 300watt for each, so that is not a factor. It would have to be a driver conflict.
Follow the directions for installation, I found these are the instructions that have applied to several ATI cards. A most important part of the instructions is to uninstall the existing ATI software before installing new software.
Well, the easiest solution would be to format your computer and reinstall your OS. Though I do not think that there is something wrong with your CPU. Can you describe the problem more precisely? For example step by step, what you do first and last.
