I installed a remanufactured color cartridge and now my prints are all in magenta. The realignment page is not black and blue, but magenta and black and misses most of its print. Never had a problem with cartridges ordered directly from DELL, tried to save money and pay "only" $26.00 instead of over $30.00 plus shipping, now I'm at the end of my ropes.... I have removed the sticker and tape, took both, black and color cartridges out and back in, restarted computer, wasted tons of ink and paper in cleaning and realigning, still only printing in pretty pink... that's it! Anybody know what to do??? Please help, before I throw that printer out the window!!!! Eva :O
Mine was on two HP printers. A G55 and a 722c. I tried different cartridges and would get different colors. One would only do yellow and several magenta. Odd thing, I created a three box print out under Powerpoint with a single color fill in each, red, yellow and blue. The printouts would be with two of the three boxes filled with the same color and third blank. Not what I expected.
I used the hot water remedy suggested here and that fixed them.

The computer is mucking up so I tested the colours by writing a sentence and making all the words different colours, turqoise and green came out blue but nothing else showed and I think my dad would kill me if I put water (etc.) on the cartriges, let alone mess with the printer. Is there any little reason that could be behind the single-colour printing problem? Please reply asap because I've done my revision with pink words and I want them to stay that way!! Thanks
My HP Deskjet 810C printer only prints magenta. Replacing the color cartridge, changing from using parrallel printing cable to using a USB cable, reloading drivers, aligning print, has not solved the problem.

I TOO JUST INSTALLED A BRAND NEW INK CARTRIDGE AND EVERYTHING IS MAJENTA!! YOU CAN SEE THE PHOTO BUT ITS ALL PINK! WHAT DO I DO....MAYBE MY OLD ONE WAS STILL GOOD..CAUSE IT STARTED DOING THAT ..THAT IS WHY I BOUGHT A NEW ONE???????hELP
I have a dell all in one and only use a black cartridge, (there is a colour cartridge in the machine but it is empty and I don't use colour anyway), whenever I send anything to print to this printer a box will always show up on the computer screen giving me the option to print or cancel. I am sure there must be a way that when I send anything to print it will print automatically without giving the choice and I have to click on print or cancel, which is very time consuming.
Please help me get through my daily work faster..
ALL 3 COLORS RECIPE: Fill coffee mug ¼ full of water. Heat in microwave for 1 min 30 seconds. Remove coffee mug from microwave. Put tip (head) of cartridge in coffee mug for 15 minutes. Take cartridge out of coffee mug and hold tip (head) under hottest faucet water for a few minutes. Dab (do not WIPE) on a paper towel to see if all 3 colors are present. If they are - allow cartridge to dry for 30 minutes then put back in printer. If all 3 colors are not present - repeat process. Good Luck! It works GREAT for my DeskJet 840c - EVERYTIME!

I refill ink cartridges on site at my retail store. Sounds like the cartridges you bought got dried out (on the yellow and cyan outlets). Try taking a damp paper towel (not dripping wet) then take your cartridge and with the damp paper towel over your fingers--run the end of the ink cartridge over the paper towel. (where the ink comes out). This will 1. moisten the printhead, and 2. clean off any dried ink on the print head. One other thing you can do if this does not work...take the damp paper towel and set on something you do not mind getting ink on (cardboard box) then place the ink cartridge where the print head (where ink comes out) directly touches the paper towel. Check it in about 5 minutes--you should see a rainbow of the 3 primary colors--if not, it is clogged or dried out more then just at the print head.
If this does not work...the ink cartridge needs additional cleaning. I use a sonic cleaner which works great. A sonic cleaner is similar to a jewelry cleaner--it vibrates the print head of the ink cartridge in a water just enough to cover the print head. This breaks loose any old or dried ink inside the print head. Either way-remanufactured work best when you can actually take them to a retail store that cleans and refills your original cartridges on-site. That is what I do at my store and have about a 95% success rate. Do not loose faith in remanufactured or refilling stores that sell these. Recycling can save you a lot and helps the environment. The success rate is still good (95%+) on remanufactured products. You just got one of those 5%. If you were my customer--I would clean it free and guarantee it to perform.

Hi.....I did what Inkshoppe requested, I also had the same problem with only Magenta coming through...didn't work for me..I rang my lovely office supply guy and he told me to deep clean printer...following steps for a PC click on Computer Panel, Printers and Faxes, right click under Canon Pixma, scroll down to properties..click under Maintenance Tab, then click under Deep Cleaning.....my printer works fabulously now..Maybe this will work for you..

technically speaking your printhead might already damage or severely clogged, have you tried to conduct nozzle check, and how many times have you tried to execute cleaning, if you have tried it for four-up times there's notheing you can do but to call replace the printhead together with the pump cap assembly, yeah right pump cap assembly must be check if it still suck ink thoroughly during cleaning process.

When I try to print in black, it prints black and magenta. When I try to print in color, it only prints blue and yellow. I've re-installed the driver, I've changed the color cartridge (twice!) and I'm fiddled with every setting I can find. No dice.
My 930C started misbehaving on a genuine HP cartridge.
I suspected low ink but there were no on screen warnings.
Replaced cartridge with a new ( not HP ) cartridge but the problem remained.
Previously operated OK on non HP cartridges.
I am trying to help my mother-in-law figure out why her HP Deskject 940c color cartridge only prints in magenta. Her problem is a little different. Her color cartridge IS OEM HP, but her black cartridge is after-market. The printer prints in black GREAT but the only color that it prints is magenta. After reading a prior post I have concluded that HP will allow you to print successfully if you purchase their OEM products ONLY! I buy Canon and Epson printers - NEVER HP - as I can successfully print with after-market ink in both, with Canon being by far the most successful. For several years now I have purchased ink cartridges at a huge price savings from www.extracartridges.com (I have NO AFFILIATION except as a customer with this company). It seems that the main reason there are after-market issues with HP products is due to the fact that the print head is imbedded in each cartridge as opposed to the print head being a replaceable (if needed) part of the printer as it is in Canon and Epson.
