I have a Kenmore Elite Oasis HE washer model 110-27082603. Latest problem is no response or light from the display. when iIunplug/plugin power I get one beep. a month ago I replaced the mother board due to the F1 problem. I swapped out the new board with old and have the same no response or light from the display and a single beep when I plug in power. This unit has become very frustrating..

i have the same problem; just started today 12/19/08 and only 2 years old as well. seems to me that kenmore built a bad product.

  • llerroswr Dec 26, 2008

Funny, I see that everyone started having this problem in Dec 2008.
I purchased mine in July of '06; so do motherboards go out in about 30 months?

I am still getting power to the washer, but will not run a cycle and will come on randomly throughout the day if plugged in. Really screwed up. I am guessing the mother board... purchased 2006 - same as all - 2 1/2 years seems messed up.

same here...how much is a mother board?

  • Anonymous Dec 31, 2008

WOW, This is what my issue is as well. It happened at the end of November. I try to power the machine up and all I see is a quick flashing of half letters and or numbers and then nothing. I looked up what it could be and it tells me that it could be the control unit ($165.00) or the user interface ($99.95) I never saw anything named "mother board" I can only assume it is the "Control unit"

My washer turned off in the middle of the wash cycle and has no power to it now. The lid is locked and the clothes are in it full of water. When I opened up the back part, I can see that two wires have been pinched together and melted. I bought this washer in 12-2006 and haven't had any problems before now. I'm not sure whether the motherboard is now fried or if I can just replace the wireing.

The motherboard is bad.
This is the same motherboard that causes so many other problems.
Look at threads listing the F1 error.

I have a Kenmore Elite Oasis top load washer and keep having the UL code pop up. I have leveled and re-leveled the machine with no avail. I have also ensured that my level is still in working order. If...

You can try to clear the Error Codes;

  • Unplug the washer for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Disconnect the U.I. (touch pad).
  • Plug the washer back in for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Unplug the washer.
  • Plug the U.I. back in and then plug the washer back in. Codes should then be cleared
  • if that doesn't work that indicates a problem with the software in the machines control board replace board with this part number 26-110-8564393R and this should resolve the problem part cost about 114.16 if you like go sears parts direct .com or call parts directly at 800-573-6456

My KEModel 27086 stops during the cycle (any cicle) and shows code F1, I know is either an "air hose" or a computer board; how hard it is to "do it yourself" ?

F1 touch pad / ERC test This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.
2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

How do i get the top off of a top load kenmore oasis washer to look at the water pump

1

Disconnect your Kenmore Oasis washing machine from its power source. Make sure that your washer is unplugged before beginning to disassemble it.
#
2

Remove the screws that hold the control console to the top of your Oasis washer. In some Kenmore Oasis models, the two screws may be covered by plastic end caps. After removing the screws, set them aside until you are ready to replace them.
#
3

Flip the console up, back and out of the way.
4

Locate the cabinet clips on the top of your Kenmore Oasis washer. These clips are located toward the back of the washer top and would be hidden by the console if it were not currently flipped up.
#
5

Slide your screwdriver underneath the metal cabinet clips. Wiggle the screwdriver back and forth to gently pry the cabinet clips free.
#
6

Disconnect the group of colored wires that plug into the top of the washer from the control console. These wires control the lid switch on your Kenmore washing machine. To disconnect, grasp the white plastic clip and pull gently.
#
7

Remove the washing machine cabinet. Tilt the cabinet towards you, and then lift the entire cabinet up and off of its platform.

Power to the outlet, but apparently no power at the touch pad - it is non responsive with no indicator lights on.

1. No power to the washer
Make sure there's power getting to the washer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the washer, if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

2. Lid switch
The washing machine may not function if the lid switch is defective. The switch is usually located near the door. Replace if found defective.

If all the above checks out OK, replace the touch pad.
