This is your motherboard, and the archecture will take a standard pcie graphics card. The best to go for at a medium price are the Nvidia GEForce 5*** range ot the Radeon 9*** range. These are available at between £25- £55 gbp

Hi! I am running Windows XP 64 OS on a Intel D975xbxlkr motherboard. I need to replace the pci express graphics card. One that will be compatable with the OS and motherboard. I am not gamer Any...

Everything on the Intel D975XBXLKR motherboard is 64-bit. The Processor, and Northbridge chipset included.

The Northbridge chipset handles the Processor, Ram Memory, and high-speed graphics.

AGP and PCI Express is high-speed graphics.
A graphics card plugged into a PCI slot (White) or using Integrated (OnBoard) graphics is NOT high-speed graphics.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Motherboard_diagram.svg

The Northbridge chipset for an Intel D975XBXLKR motherboard is an Intel i975X.
(The i stands for Intel)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_chipsets#Core_2_chipsets

ALL PCI-Express graphics cards are compatible with a 64-bit O/S.

What you may be concerned with, is whether the PCI Express technology used on your motherboard is PCI Express 1.1, or PCI-Express 2.0

It is PCI-Express 2.0 technology that is used.

[Doesn't matter anyway. PCI-Express 2.0 technology is Backward Compatible with PCI-Express 1.1 technology.
A graphics card based on PCI-Express 2.0 technology will work on a motherboard with PCI-Express 1.1 technology.
You just won't get the full capabilities of the graphics card.
You probably won't notice either ]

A recommendation for your perusal;

Yes this is a type of gamer graphics card, and I read your requirement.
My argument is the quality for the price.
Even if you do not game your graphics will be superlative.
Excellent graphics on a computer makes a world of difference.
This graphics card will work with a 350 Watt power supply.

Gateway 510x r4 installing a video card

Gateway Support, and the main support page for the Gateway 510x R4 desktop computer. (It's a Legacy computer)

http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/510Series/2900456/2900456nv.shtml

Left-click on - Components
Now left-click on -
2521362 - Intel (Midway 2 GV) Motherboard No CPU RO
(Under the Motherboards heading)

Here you will see a photo of the Gateway 510X R4 motherboard.

[You can enlarge this photo for more clarity in viewing.
Right-click on the photo.
Now left-click on - Save Image As

In the File name: box, you will see - 2521362nv
This will be the file name you will look for.
You can add to this file name, so that it is easier to find.

Left-click twice after the v in 2521362nv
Make one space with your space bar.
Type Gateway 510X motherboard.
Now go below to the right, and click on - Save.

This will go to your My Pictures folder. Open My Pictures, (Start>My Pictures), and double-click on the motherboard photo.
Now go below, and left-click on the Zoom In icon.
The Plus ( + ) sign]

In the main menu left-click on Specifications.

Scroll down to the heading - Expansion Capabilities

Here you will see listed -
Three PCI Bus add-in card connectors (SMbus routed to PCI bus connector 2)

This means you have a PCI slot for a graphics card slot.

Looking at the motherboard photo, you will see three white PCI slots.
In the motherboard photo, these are the three white long slots, towards the bottom left.

Use any open, unused PCI slot. Doesn't matter which one you use.

You need a graphics card that fits in a PCI slot.

These are examples of PCI graphics cards,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/guidedSearch.asp?CatId=28&sel=Detail;55_158_2872_2872

My suggestion would be for a graphics card like this,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5071671&CatId=3670

(You have a 250 Watt power supply in your computer. In the Components list, it is listed under Power Supplies. You have one of those 250 Watt power supply's)

I wouldn't suggest spending more, or going for a better graphics card.
The single core Intel Pentium 4 (3.0GHz) processor, won't handle newer games that require a dual core processor.
No reason to waste your money.

Any questions please state in a Comment.

Intel 945 gccr has pci x16 slot for graphic card or not

The Intel 945GC Express Chipset contains two separate, mutually exclusive graphics
options. Either the integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics controller is used or a PCI
Express x16 add-in card can be used. When a PCI Express x16 add-in card is
installed, the Intel GMA 950 graphics controller is disabled.
The 9500 should work even though it is pci-e 2.0..i would go with a brand like BFG as they offer a lifetime warrantee..
Regards..

How to instal agp slot in intel Board d845GVFN

Hi,

AGP graphics adapter is installed only to an AGP slots not on the PCI.pci-mb.jpg slots as shown. You should change your AGP to PCI type graphics adapter.

Hope it works,

Want to upgrade the video card but dont know where to start. are the three expansion slots at the bottom of the board used to expand drivers like the video?

Hi there.
Seeing as the graphics on that board are integrated Intel Extreme Graphics and the board does not have PCI Express or AGP slots then you can use one of the 3 PCI expansion slots to install a video card.
The largest PCI graphics card I've seen is a 512MB card and that was not cheap as the latest video slots are PCI Express.
It will however free up essential system memory which is always a good thing.

I have a intel D865GVHZ motherboard...wanna install graphics card

From what i can find, it doesnt have a agp (like you said) or pci-express slot so you cant install a pci express graphics card.
You could use a pci craphics card but wont be very good,

If you go for a pci card make sure it isnt pci-e

About graphics card slot..

The board has a pci express port on it. You can install any video card which uses the PCI-E x16 interface. Almost all new video cards use this interface.

Your board also has an onboard video card (ATI x300 model). You don't actually need a graphics card unless you want the better performance for games.

Is there any PCI slot for graphics card in Intel D845GVRS

hi buddy, the graphics card u r talking about is an AGP not PCI, And most of the 845 chipset series do have an AGP slot, so idont think there is any issue, but do check for the AGP slot.
Bye, enjoy...
