My router drops my internet connection numerous times during any on-line session. The "internet" blue light blinks off, then on, with the "WAN now connected" bubble popping up on the screen, indicating a reconnection. Sometimes the "modem" light will also flash orange, then go back to blue at the same time the internet light drops out.

Also, occasionally, the "wired" light blinks off, then back on. I generally don't loose my internet connection when this occurs, unless I'm also in the process of searching for a new site when this happens.

At the moment, the continuous popping up of the "now connected" bubble is the most irritating aspect of my problem.

The problem was more sever, but after "fiddling" with restarts, various configuration settings, and installing the latest firmware updates, my problem now is as described above. My concern is that I have a more serious hardware problem that will eventually lead to total failure (after warranty has expired!!)

I'm connected through a cable modem that seldom loses the connection with my ISP. There is no visual indication that my modem drops out at the same time the router drops out.

My PC is running XP, sp-3, and is hard wired to the router through a Belkin 2.0/ethernet adapter.

I use the router to connect to my laptop via wireless.

I'm in the middle of my afternoon internet time, (2pm-6pm daily) & my belkin wireless router's internet light begins flashing & I then lose connectivity, what could it be? A driver issue maybe?

it could be. i owned a wireless router one time, (a fairly cheap one) and it was under almost constant, heavy usage (2 - sometimes 3 wireless laptops, 1 desktop and xbox live) and one day it just gave out. it could be a driver problem, but what i would do is unplug the router, let it set for 30 seconds or so, then plug it back in. this almost always fixed any router i stumbled across.

Belkin wireless adapter

Sometimes wireless phones will interfere with the signals. If the router or PC is anywhere near a phone, it might have a problem. I have one wireless network card that gives me fits like that. I have yet to get a PC working with it. I have other wireless cards that work fine. I also switched to 5GHz phones, which helped my old laptop. Check to make sure there's not a conflict with the encryption used by either the dell or the router.

Belkin Wireless Modem Router problem

well, first of all the i also have the N1 belkin wireless modem router, in order for it to connect, there has to be a wireless connection in your area for you to connect to, if any of your neighbors so have wireless you can connect to their network, but if you are not getting a conection that means no one around you has wireless or lan, the belkin wireless is not a internet provider it just extends the distance of your internal wireless. some networks may be secured as well, sometimes you can only connect to unsecured networks unless you have the name and passcode for the secured network.

I have a new Belkin G router. Have managed to connect to Internet with LAN cable but cannot connect to Wireless system . If I remove the LAN cable I lose the Internet connection

You have to configure your router to enable a wireless connection. First, you should find out in the documentation what is the IP address of your router. It is specific for each brand. It is something like 192.168.0.100. In your web browser, in the address area (where we usually type http://www...), you type the IP adress of your router. You will be able to configure it. Refer to your guide or go to Belkin website, with your product number.
