Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

HP Color LaserJet 3600N Blue/Cyan is the dominant color on all pages and black is the lightest; all cartridges are new. Performed full Calibration 3 times powered off/on...issues still persists.

While in your printer's menu display can you navigate to a toner reset page or, navigate to the toner yield setting. You should be able to do this at the printer or from the HP printer software accessory program, the one that keeps track of toner levels.

You see, it seems to me that your machine is not set correctly to give you light, medium and heavy toner usage equally. Knowing HP, you may have to go to Start Menu, Control Panel, Printers and Faxes and the at your printer entry, right click the icon and select properties. Hunt through the various setting available and comment back to me using the Comment Box below and I'll help you take it to the next step.

Hi again,

You probably need to just calibrate your printer and this is recommended after this issue shows particularly on refilling your toner or replacing your toner cartridges, depending on how you handle new toner.

From HP::
Follow the steps listed below to calibrate your printer.

  1. Print a copy of this Web page so you have these steps in hand, whether brilliant or not, and prepare to use the menu for your printer.

  2. Press the Menu HP Color LaserJet 3600N

Blue/Cyan is - menu_button.gif button to enter the MENU on the control panel of the printer.

  3. Press the Down arrow down.gif button to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE andHP Color LaserJet 3600N Blue/Cyan is - select.gifs the Select select.gif butHP Color LaserJet 3600N Blue/Cyan is - down.gifbr />
  4. Press the Down arrow down.gif button to highlight PRINT QUALITY and then press the Select select.gif button.

  5. HP Color LaserJet 3600N Blue/Cyan is - select.gifs="h_mi"> Press the Down arrow down.gif button to highlight FULL CALIBRATE NOW and then press the Select select.gif button.

  6. Wait for the printer to calibrate.

  3. Press the DownHP Color LaserJet 3600N Blue/Cyan is - down.gifimg src="" alt="down.gif" class="h_mi" /> button to highlight DIAGNOSTICS.

  4. HP Color LaserJet 3600N Blue/Cyan is - select.gifs="h_mi">Press the Select select.gif button to select DIAGNOSTICS.

  5. Press the Down arrow button to highlight PRINT DIAGNOSTICS PAGE.

  6. Press the Select button to select PRINT DIAGNOSTICS PAGE
Now, look carefully at the Diagnostic page you printed. Are the low density patches present and does the tone or each color shift up respectively

Now check that the alignment bars are correct as in the example below.

All your colors and line alignments should now be correct. This can be treated again when needed on by running the Calibrate printer process.

Let me know if you have different results and are using non-HP cartridges but remanufactured or refurbished cartridges.

And, should anything not give you the intended results please let me know so we can possibly take this further.

HP 4700 not printing cyan

If your printer is missing a color it could be caused by (off the top of my head) 3 possibilities.
1. High voltage board
2. laser/scanner assembly for that color
3. DC controller might need a firmware upgrade,
Run the PQ diagnostics, check the cyan color
Run the Cartridge Disable diagnostic. Remove all cartridges and take the black cartridge and insert it where the cyan normally is. If the black prints in the cyan slot, your cyan cartridges are bad. If the black doesn't work then go to #3 above. It won't cost any money to upgrade the firmware. If it still doesn't work call in a printer tech.
At this point you may need a printer tech.

Colors are not ligned up even after calibrating. Black and white prints fine. In addition, the transfer sheet has a streak of blue powder on one side which causes streaks on the paper. I know how to...

The blue streak is likely caused by a bad cyan cartridge, not a bad belt. That will clean off after you replace the cartridge. The misalignment problem sometimes requires 3 complete full calibration cycles to eliminate the error.

Hp 3600n laster printer has started printing pink blothes on pictures

You probably have a defective magenta cartridge. To test that you need Print Test Quality pages.

1. Press Menu to open the MENUS.

2. Press to highlight DIAGNOSTICS, and then press .

3. Press to highlight PQ TROUBLESHOOTING, and then press .

The message PRINTING... PQ TROUBLESHOOTING appears on the control-panel display until the

printer finishes printing the PQ troubleshooting pages. The printer returns to the Ready state after
printing the PQ troubleshooting pages.

the pages it produces are individual colors, black, magenta, yellow and cyan and a white page and a config sheet. If the defect is on all pages then it might be a bad transfer belt. If it is only on one of the color pages, that will tell you which cartridge is bad.

Whenever I print color, entire page comes out blue. I have replaced the cyan cartridge (twice) and the Laser Transfer Kit. Sometimes there are thick blue streaks in addition to the overall blue color. What...

Run the "disable cartridge check"
It will be in the Diagnostics.
Once you start the test, you can remove all the cartridges. Put the cyan in the black cartridge slot.
print a config page. If it is all blue, you have another bad cartridge. If it prints correctly(minus the other colors)...continue
Now put the magenta in the cyan cartridge slot. Print the config page again. If you have red all over the page, you have a problem with the slot itself.
Press the STOP button and then select EXIT diagnostics. Put the cartridges back where they all go and run CALIBRATION more than once.
Select/menus/down arrow/configure devce/select configure device
Down arrow/print quality/seect print quality
Down arrow/ calibrate now. Select it and wait.

Have HP3600n over just 1year. Having trouble after startup gets stuck in calibration and won't go any further... any thoughts? Have tried cold reboot w/all unplugged several times...Mike

Start by removing the formatter. Have paper in tray 2.
Print an engine test. You should see repeating lines of cyan, magenta, black and yellow. If any of the colors are missing - run the Disable Cartridge Check. Run the engine test again with the previously missing color in another slot. If that color fails again, replace it. If the issue stays with the slot replace the laser scanner. If the engine test is good now, install a new formatter, power up and see if the calibration hang is gone.

If you could possibly manage to access the machine status menu and have it print to check the drum's life, fuser life, developer, etc.. pls refer. Kindly replace the toner cartridge accordingly use the menu settings when replacing any color if needed. Please print solid image or block in each color Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Balck. Well see if what color causing the problem. Please let me know the print result it may be; washed out or too light, too bright or black, double image, or not clean. Don't hesistate to contact me again about the result.
