Radio code for Seat Aura (Grundig)

I had to replace my battery today (2003 Seat Toledo) & the stereo is now asking for the code.

I called the dealer where I bought the car & they say I need to take the car in & they will need to plug it into the diag-port to get the code ? I have checked all the hand book/leaflets I got with the car & no sign of the code.

Can someone please help?

The radio is an Aura V4.0
Serial : SEZ2Z6A1148731

With the newer cars most radios have a theft deterrent device built into the radio, and if they steal your system it will not work in another jeep/car the dealer knows the unlock code, some charge to unlock the radio some don't.
That's why when doing electrical work on a car/truck etc. You have to have 12V DC power to the battery terminals all the time or you will loose the code and then only the dealer can help you unlock the radio.

Locked radio

This is a different type coded stereo. These stereos communicate with the car's computer. The dealership is the only one that can recode this stereo to communicate with the car's computer to work. I have seen the dealership charge over $100 for this ten minute process, I have also seen them do it for free. If you are not happy with the recode quote, call another dealership.

98 ML 320 Radio Code

Call the dealer and give them your VIN number. If that does not work you might have to take the stereo out and give the dealer Serial # for that radio. Good luck!

Ford capri

Hi the problem with getting the code is the age of the vehicle now if the stereo is original then it might have the code written on sticker on the case of the stereo so you need to remove the stereo and have a look.
If the code isnt on the stereo then if you still have the original hand book for the car it might be written in their but the chances of you having this is very slim.
The only other place you can get the code from is a ford dealers they have these code wriiten on computer for this problem.
What ill do whilst i wait for your reply is ask around people i know as im a car mechanic so ill ask around for you ok ill get back to you shortly

Grundig car radio codes

There are 3 ways you can get the radio code:
1. Reference your car manual or the Grundig's manual that came with the unit. Most times, there is a sticker on the manual with the radio code printed;
2. Call/visit the car dealer and explain your issue. You may need to show proof of ownership of the vehicle and/or the radio;
3. Use firms who specializes in this. You can try here, here or here.

If the Grundig is the original radio installed when the Vauxhall Astra was new. there are some unconfirmed reports that the radio code is also stenciled on the metal plate where the Vehicle Identification Number is.

Hope that this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
