If you are in a hurry and don't have time to read all, then scroll down and read in between the double Astrix's.
I have had the same problem a few times and the only way to unlock is.... Well you have four options.
**However I personally belive that option number four is not only the easiest, but the quickest and most efficent way.** And if you are going to do option 4 then open a new tab or window and click on the follow link and the following webpage from AT&T will help guide you through the process if you are more of a visual learner, just need more help, or even if you just don't get it because it can be confusing the first time around having to do this, because you are already frustrated because your phone isn't working, is locked up, it has locked you out, or whatever the case may be. However here is that link http://www.wireless.att.com/answer-center/main.jsp?t=solutionTab&solutionId=KB617 and remember these steps will work for all AT&T phones with this problem as long as it is the PUK, or PUK1 and not the PUK 2 code. However if it is the PIK 2 Code any of the the other 3 options will help you with resolving your problem 95% of the time as long as you haven't used all of your attemps up guessing what the code maybe. But amy ways I hope this information helps akk of you out!!!!
- 1.) You can go into an AT&T store and they can do it for you.
- 2.) You can call AT&T at 1-800-331-0500 or 611 from another AT&T phone.
- 3.) You can go to http://www.wireless.att.com and chat live to a technical support agent and they can assist you with unlocking your phone.
- 4.) Or you can go to http://www.wireless.att.com and log into "My Account", if you are not registered online you should register because not only will it help you with this problem, but also many many others, you can acess blogs/ fourms and many other helpfull tools. However anyways you login to your account and select the phone number of the phone that has been locked out and select it. Then on the main page that shows all other valuable information as well, to the right of the picture of your phone it will either tell you the PUK code or have a link that will say unlock sim, which then once you click that link it will give you the code and you are not only set, but you are good to go with your phone up and going. Just be sure to set your code to something that you will remember, at the same time though something nobody else can guess or figure out, i.e your voicemail password, or your 4-digit password that you use for everything. However if you are afraid or worried it will be to easy for others to guess, figure out, or crack as some will say choose a different 4-digit even a random number i.e 0371, 8561, or 2819 and write it down in your address book your hard copy address book that is, or on a piece of paper and put it in your phones box, or even write it on box its self. Nobody will know what the code is or what its use or purpose is, for all they know they could think its the last four digits of your phone number, or a number that an AT&T representitive wrote on there when you bought the phone, shoot they could think it is an inventory count number.
I am also very sorry that i rambeled on and on for a while, but hopefully this information will help all of you out. Thank you all and have a good morning, day, evening or night, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL.
