trying to remove a horizontal line from the left of the tv.plz help.
Problem for Toshiba CF36G40 36" TV
Big black box across the screen towards the bottom.
I was trying to program my DVR remote to work with my toshiba cf36g40 and all of a sudden a big black box appeared around the area that the volume screen comes up when changing the volume. it goes away for a min or two if i turn the tv off and it doesnt show up if on regular tv, just when the tv is turned to tv/video. i tried switchin to just a coax cable instead of the red white and yellow cables... not tech savvy sorry. please help.

- this is a 35" screen. Approx 15yr's old. Only 1 RCA input w/coax and S cable. All inputs have the same result. Yet the the black box does not appear with static on any random channel. The box is on the lower 1/3 of the screen centered and streching to 2" away from the edges. Box will disappear if menu or volume is used. Can take up to 10 seconds to appear. This all occured after attempting to program a universal remote for a dvr. Yet this has noting to do with the DVR. The DVD player and direct input all have the same result. Thank you in advance for your help. This TV weighs over 100lbs. I would hate to have to move it again.Same Problem

- I have the same problem, however the black box just randomly appeared. When I change channels, it goes away for a second but then comes right back. I have tried unplugging everything and it is still there.HELP!!!- avog55

- I have the same problem recently. For awhile it would go away if I turned everything off, then back on but now that isn't even working. Any solutions?- havesian

- I have the same problem- - I thought it was my dvd player so I switched it out for a new one- and now it is doing it with the XBOX- GuestSolution #1
