You got to check a few things prior to perform any troubleshooting step.
1)whenever you face a disconnection check both end FO converters and try to figure out which one lights are blinking and which are not blinking in both ends at the same time.
2) are both the converter is similar make or not? If not please specify both makes.
3)How many devices are connected on both end after the AP's(approx)? Is there any switch or hub also present within the same network?
4)whenever you face a hang/disconnection position disconnect and reconnect power from one of the FO converters and see what happens then disconnect and reconnect power in the other end and see what you get.
Please revert back with the above detail and I feel I will be able to help you out.Rather you will be able to find out where the issue lies by applying the above steps.
All the best.

go to http:\\ip-adres-of AP5131
wait for login (java must be on your computer; otherwise click on link and install)
enter username : admin
enter password: ????
go to: Network configuraion => Wireless=>Radio configuration=>
and select a chanel.
Make sure when both AP's are to function on one network (+roaming) the channels on both should be different (f.i. choose channel 3 & 6). SSID and key;s should be the same
Make sure to save the changes on the AP.

Hi, I got a AP-5131 with 4 antenna outputs in the

Greetings, It is entirely possible that it has a RAM error but again this may be part of the power spike problem. Its not unusual for RAM to be affected. I don't suppose it is connected into a power spike connector? It would be wise to invest in a good one with throwouts on all plugs and use it specifically for all your PC set up. I had two router/modems affected last year ( in summer) whenj lightning is not around one would think! But there is more lightning in summer than winter according to the Gurus's of weather.

I now have all sensitive items plugged into an expensive power board with double protection fuse/cutouts and so far all has been well.

If the unit is under any warranty I would be taking it back and just complaining that is stopped working suddenly, without explanation or intervention on your part. Let them replace it. Dont ask about spike arrestors in the same shop HAHA as they may suddenly refuse to exchange it.

Ram chips are not cheap anyway, and both chips could be damaged as well as internal componenents. I don't suppose you can smell any burn in the unit? (not always evident)

Cheers

exist 2 ways to do it...

first if you now te ip address and the user and password of admin, conect the ap at the ethernet port of you pc and configure it with a ip in the same range that the ap, put the ip direcction in the web browser.

the second way is conect the ap to the serial port and run the hyperterminal if you have windows, maybe you need configure the values of the conecctions.

Reset access point motorola symbol ap 5131

Just pull the power supply plug out for thirty seconds. It works for me. You are correct I don't ever use the reset button. In fact the techs at Verizon told me to just pull the plug out.
Hope this is what you wanted,
