HOW TO RESET HARMAN KARDON AVR70

Hi, Try this. Hope this helps and I have the link here to the manual.
Processor Reset
If the AVr behaves erratically after a power surge, first turn off the front-panel
main
power switch and unplug the Ac power cord for at least 3 minutes. plug the cord back
in and turn the AVr on. If this procedure doesn't help, reset the AVr's processor as
described below.
note: resetting the processor will erase all user configurations, including speaker and
level settings, and tuner presets. After a reset, reenter all of these settings from your
notes in the Appendix worksheets.

To reset the AVR's processor:

1. press the front-panel Standby/on switch to place the unit in the Standby mode (the
Standby Indicator led will turn amber).
2. press and hold the front-panel Standby and memory/folder buttons until the reSet
message appears on the front-panel message display.
3. press the memory/folder button again to reset the AVr's processor.
If the AVr does not function correctly after a processor reset, contact an authorized
harman
kardon service center for assistance.
to locate an authorized service center,
visit our web site at www.harmankardon.com.

Problem with Harman Kardon AVR-70II Turning on

you must open the receiver in order to Test the relais for dirty contacts or faulty. Try to clean the contacts with contacts cleaner, or see any loose wires around and resolder the wires from coil

HK AVR70 Unit has been fine. Not sure what happened? With the volume turned up loud you only hear 5% of the sound coming out of the speakers.

Sounds like either the speakers are bad or the output stage is bad. Try different speakers and if not, then the electronics will need to be diagnosed.

you need to find a headphones, put a drop of contact cleaner on headphone plug and plug it into receiver's h/p input several times. It cleanes internal h/p connector contacts and unit will work fine. If doen't help the receiver most likely has bad h/p connector soldering.

Sound from reciever

LFE (ONE CABLE ON THE SUB TO SUB OUT ON AVR) OR stereo L/R analog cable from sub to tape in/or out on avr (depends on AVR) LFE connection the sub turns up with the AVR - the stereo cable threw tape in/out on AVR only turns up via its own onboard amp volume from AVR has no affect.

Denon AVR 3600 sound gone

this happened to me once and I found that my reciever would just shut down. make sure that you have plenty of space above the amp. it may be over heating and shutting down on you and when it cools down, it turns back on. there will most likely the "overload" light will be lit when it shuts down the audio.

hope that helps
