Turn on your computer and locate the Wi-Fi icon. This could be located on the upper row on a laptop it will have the radiation look ((())) Make sure its pressed on. The internet connection is located in the system tray in the bottom-right corner of the screen. The icon looks like a series of rectangles that increase in from left to right. Wireless Acer laptop can be a massive boon to your productivity when it is working properly and a massive headache when it is not. The best solution is to merely reinstall the software driver, which refers to the program that the operating system uses to speak the wireless card's language.

Open your operating manual and look up the model name and number for your laptop. Navigate to the Acer Support web page (see Below) and click on the "Downloads" link. http://support.acer.com/ Input the model number of your laptop, click on the "Search" button, download the wireless driver file for your laptop model and save the file to your desktop. Open the "Start" menu, click on "Control Panel" and open "Device Manager." Open the "Network Adapters" menu, double-click on your wireless card, select the "Drivers" tab, click on the "Update Drivers" button and choose the desktop as the location to search for new drivers. Click "Next" to reinstall the driver, fixing your wireless woes.

HELP! I just received a Sylvania Wireless Internet notebook, model # SYNET7WID-Z. When I hit the power button the screen comes up, however, it displays only the My Computer and Recycle icons. Pushing

If it new there will be only a few icons on the desktop. In the bottom right of the desktop, the Tray Notification Area, you should see, You didn't supply your OS?, a Network Icon, click on it and open Available Wireless Networks. Your Sylvania Notebook is very light on support, I can't find a user manual.

My samsung netbook n150 plus will not connect to the wifi

Turn on your computer and locate the Wi-Fi icon.

This is located in the system tray in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

The icon looks like a series of rectangles that increase in size from left to right.

Right-click the Wi-Fi icon and select "Connect to a network." You will see a list of available wireless networks.

Choose a Wi-Fi network you want to connect to and select "Connect."

Enter the password into the password text box if a password is required. If a password is not required, you will automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network.

Click "OK."

How can I connect my laptop to the wireless router?

Hi,

First of all look for the wireless switch of your netbook and make sure it is slid to the right (it has an icon of a computer with signals on both sides). Then press and hold the "Fn" key. While holding it down, press "F5". Make sure that the wireless is enabled. Then go to control panel. Click on Network and sharing center. Click on "Connect or Disconnect". It should display available networks that your computer detects. Click on your network and type the security key if prompted so.

Thank you for choosing FixYa!

My wi-fi says the connection is excellent but when i click to go onto the internet it says cannot display this page cannot find server or DNS error.

I had the same problem with my CVS Sylvania netbook model# SYNET07526 so I clicked on the 1st icon in the bottom right tray {looks like a blue compter with )) next to it which is the wifi icon}, then clicked the 3rd tab in the window that pops up which says wireless info, then clicked on the 2nd button on the bottom which says Advanced, then in the box where it says Preferred Networks I deleted everything but the network I was trying to go on. After I did that I was able to go back on the network with no problem.

Apparantly there's a flaw that "confuses the netbook" if more than 1 preferred network appears in the box on my netbook. Hopefully that solves your issue too.

Troubleshoot a Compaq Wireless Network Card

step 1

Open the Compaq's "Start" menu and type "Device Manager" in the "Search" box. Click the "Device Manager" icon.

step 2

Scroll down to the "Network Adapters" heading and click the plus sign to expand the list of attached network adapters. Right-click the name of your computer's wireless network card and choose "Uninstall." Follow the uninstall prompts on the screen.

step 3

Close the "Device Manager" window and return to the "Start" menu. Click "Restart" and wait for the operating system to boot up again. Follow the "Found New Hardware" prompt that loads on the screen to reinstall the network card.

step 4

Return to the "Device Manager" window and right-click the network card's entry again. Choose "Update Device Driver." Follow the prompts to install the latest driver.

step 5

Check the left side of your Compaq computer if you are using a laptop to see if it has a wireless network switch. Push the switch over to the "On" setting if it is set to "Off."

step 6

Open the "Start" menu and click "Network." Select the "Network and Sharing Center" icon at the top of the window.

step 7

Click the red "X" icon to have Windows automatically search for the problem. Follow the prompts to diagnose and resolve the network connection issue.

step 8

Double-click the networking icon in the system tray at the lower, right corner of the screen and click the name of the network you need to connect to if you are using Windows 7. In Windows Vista, instead click "Connect To" in the "Start" menu and click the name of the network.
