MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING AROUND THE FAN (WIRES ETC.) IS PROPERLY ROUTED AND SECURED AWAY FROM THE FAN, MANY TIMES THAT IS THE PROBLEM, NOT THE FAN, ALSO MAKE SURE THE FAN IS SECURE, OFTEN THE SCREWS WORK LOOSE, IF ALL THIS IS FINE REPLACE THE FAN.

Ok, so the fan is noisy, its probably going bad and starting to make more and more and more sound. Replace it.

You can either replace the fan or also try some compressed air and blow all the dust out of the fan this can happen quite often after a months/years of use. If you need further assistance let me know. Please take a moment to accept and rate my solution accordingly.
Thank you,
Lee

Fan sometimes kicks into high gear

Gem its not a problem with dust if a motor makes noise especially an electric motor the bushings are going bad and needs replace sometime easy job sometime hard. The fan on projection TV sits by the bulb so it shouldn't be hard. The Fan should be easy to find it on the web

My Sony KF50XBR800 2002 model goes into Stand By mode after being on for about 30-60 seconds, the stand by light flashes in irregular sequences of 5-more then 10 flashes, (don't know what that means)....

Replacement lamps do not last long. Unless it is the Sony MFG lamp, they only last about a year or so with normal use. Otherwise, the only other suggestion I could give you would be to replace the ballast. Not to expensive either, 40-50. hope this helps as well

My Samsung HLP4663W 46 in was making a buzzing noise for several months. I know it could have been either the fan(s) or the color wheel, but I never opened it up to determine which it was. Now the TV quit...

Great reasoning work! In fact, the lamp will not light if the color wheel does not spin-up. Fans will not stop the process of lamp ignition. Instead, a fan will be detected and a message will appear on the screen telling which fan has stopped. You need to have the color wheel replaced.

Hi just relaced the bulb 6 months ago Now tv

If you do not hear anything trying to come on, no fans, or relays clicking, you probably have a Thermal Fuse that has opened. Do to the dis-assembly that is required to replace it I recommend you have a qualified Service person come out to verify the symptom and repair the set. If that is what it is I estimate 400.00 or less to repair the set.
I hope this helps

Power light flashed red 4 times then repeats no pic,new bulb/fan!

Check the fan that cools the bulb. It is directly behing the bulb. It should turn on when the power comes on. It apparently has a safety to protect your tv(and home). mine is in the process of going out. looking for online solutions as we speak.

Turns on and off green LED flashes until TV turns back on.

this is a symptom of a bad lamp. for some reason it won't spit out a lamp error. shaking up the lamp will sometimes fix temporarily but you will find replacing to be the answer. if your tv has a fan error, you will get 4 red blinks.

How about the fan? I had a problem where the picture would not come on for a while and I noticed the fan speed fluctuating. There must be some saftey that keeps the bulb off if the fan isn't running. When I finally had to replace the bulb, the problem ceased.
