Disabled I was trying to fix my connection because I could not connect to the Internet. I decided to try and disable my connection, then enable it again. I succeeded in disabling it, but now I don't know how to enable it. If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, first way is into control panel, network connections, and right click on the wireless adapter one and click enable. if it aint there try this control panel, system, device manager, if you see a red tag next to anything double click on the device and click enable. That should get you going.. All the best John

Why my wifi disabled to connect

To verify the wireless network connection status, please go to the Network Connection Window. For Windows XP, Click on Start. Click on Run. Enter "ncpa.cpl" and click OK. For Windows 7 or Windows Vista, go to "Search programs and files" box. Enter "ncpa.cpl" and hit the Enter key.

If you see the wireless network connection icon is disabled in the Network Connections Window, you may double click on it to enable the connection. Should it is still disabled an no way to be enabled, you may have a AntiVirus software (for example, Kaspersky, ZoneAlarm, Trend Micro Internet Security...etc) installed in your computer and it disabled the wireless connection.

You may completely remove the antivirus software from your computer and restart the computer. Check the wireless connection can be enabled. Then you can re-install the antivirus software.

possible reasons why you can't connect to the internet
1. Ethernet cable is not plug in tight from the modem to your laptop. 2. DSL light on your modem is RED/flashing green/ OFF 3. if you have router try to unplug both modem and router for 20 seconds then turn your modem on first and wait for the DSL light on the modem become solid green before powering the router ON 4. check the LACAL AREA CONNECTION. it might be disabled. to check click satart menu then go to control panel then look for network ana internet then click network and sharing center. From the left had side of the page look for manage network connection and click it then check if the LAN is disabled. if its disabled right click the LAN and select enable. 5. check internet connection again if it works

Am trying to connect to the internet on my ps3. I have a Linksys E1000 wireless router. I go through the step by step connection process and It keeps saying: "Obtain IP Address-Succeeded, Internet...

I got every solution in the book and tried them. I learned that the simplest solution is always the best. I was getting the same messages.

Make sure the "Media Server" on your PS3 is set on "disabled"

Make sure that UpNp is "disabled" on router. (I know that previous answer said opposit but I am just saying what worked for me).

The key really seemed to be disabling the media server. Try it and let me know. As I said, I tried all the complex solutions and think it was just the media server.

You may have a cordless phone in the house perhaps. This will cause this problem. If you have, unplug it and try your conection.

Cannot hook to internet

This may not be a solution, but I recently was attacked by a free software website, that disabled my internet connection settings.

In Internet Explorer properties, or the menu item Tools / Options, there is a tab called "Connections" this is where your computer's internet connection decisions are made.
One option, in the LAN Settings button, is to "Automatically Detect Settings". My attacker somehow repeatedly disabled this option and I had to enable this each time I restarted my computer.

Something to try.

Can't connect to the internet

I've never seen that, so I'd go so far as to say it's a hardware issue, ie, you have a bad nic card.

Try this, though: From device manager, with the laptop wired, disable the ethernet adapter. Then reenable it. See if that corrects it. Sometimes, all it needs is a reset (the port). I've seen that fix many a problem. Also, if you have a firewire port showing up in Network Connections (IEEE 1394), disable that (again, in Network Connections). If none of that works, I'd try buying a PCMCIA NIC or maybe a usb one.
