How do I manually reset my Intelliflo pump? The priming alarm came on after I tried to vacuum pool. Now it wont work.

I can get it to re-prime but the alarm comes on again. How can I fix this problem?

Turn off breaker to pump for a few minutes, then back on this will reset your alarm. If the problem returns ,check other posted solutions. In a few weeks i may have location of someone who repairs circuitboards for pentair pumps, as i am having one repaired now due to lightning hit.

Your pipe could be clogged or you may have a clog in the impeller. Check the pump basket and if it is cracked then it is probally in the impeller and you may be able to reach it with a screwdriver and needlenose. If you have a crack in the skimmer basket it could be in the line and you can check this by putting a kitchen sponge in the skimmer and if it comes out in the pump the line is clear. If it is clogged you may be able to clear it with a flush bag you can get at any hardware store. If that dosn't do it you will need to get a pro. Good luck.

It sounds to me that your diffuser oring needs to be replaced. This is a common problem with that pump. The oring stretches out or breaks and this will keep the pump from creating a vaccum. This is easy to check. Shut the power off to the pump. Remove 6 bolts holding the seal plate together (do not remove the bolts that mount the motor to the pump). Their will be 2 bolts at top and bottom on each side of the seal plate that have no nuts and two bolts in the middle on each side of the seal plate that have nuts. Grab the motor and pull it away from the pump. You will see a cone on the front of the assembly. Check the oring and make sure it fits snug around the cone. If not, replace the oring. This is most likely what is wrong with your pump.

SOURCE: I have intelliflo VS+SVRS pool

There is either something blocking the suction side of this pump (blocked valve, strainer, strainer basket, leaves on main drain.) or the pump is not getting primed in the aloted amount of time. You can increase the priming time on the pump, or manually prime it, or just turn off the svrs feature temporarily until you get a good prime again. If you need the manual to figure out how to do these things, here is the link.

Pentair Intelliflo Pump Alarms and Continual re-Priming

Many pool owners seem to experience the situation with the Intelliflo Variable Flo (model numbers have changed over the past 3 years) pump alarming and re-priming continually and then stopping. I had this problem for nearly two years and spoke to the actual pump designer. We ultimately solved it as there was a spring valve in the heat pump I have. Any type of spring valve (or similar item) is a problem for the intelliflo as the pump is tooooo intelligent. When the spring opens and closes with water flow (or depending on what it was designed to do) it makes the pump think that there is a blockage and it reacts by shutting off and creating an alarm.

The solution is to replace the spring valves (or item that is varying the flow in the system) in your pool circuit. I was able to create a work around that used a manual valve just before the spring valve to reduce the flow so that the spring would not move and thus impact the pump. Basically you need to be ascertain if there are any parts in your pool flow that alter the water flow and thus pressure at any time (ie such as a spring valve) as the intelligence of the pump will take that to be an irregularity and shutdown. This can be time consuming and I hope this helps.

Note: you can test the pump to confirm that it is the intelligence that is causing the fault by putting the pump into FULL manual mode - consult the manual as merely pushing the manual switch does NOT disable the fault protection and system intelligence.

The pump keeps trying to prime. There is no air in the lines. all the valves are open. filter basket is clean. we've tried hitting the reset button, changing the prime time from 1min. to 5 min....

Most of the time you are sawing air from thpumo lid. Hav you lubricated the o-ring in the lid? If that doesn't work, keep working your way forward and lubricate the 3 way valves as well.

Alarm on pentair intelliflo sv+svrs says clear drain before restart. pump shuts and displays this message after priming and ramping down to running speed. flow seems to stop then backwashes before shutting...

I don't know why yours is giving you this indication but I have seen one do this when its DE filter needed to be backwashed. I am guessing that anything that restricts flow could cause this issue. I hope this helps.

System error prime pump again. the pump does not

if the pump is not a self priming pump, it is possible that the windings may have burned out. use a hose to prime and then try in the Maint, position.
