Microwave was fine in the morning. In the evening I noticed that the display board was not lit up. when I turned it on nothing worked. I moved around the cord and pushed and wiggled the oven. The display pannel then lit up. When I turned it on everything worked but it did not heat up at all.

I unpluged the microwave and tested the recepticle with a tester. The recepticle was good. I plugged it back in and it came on. It has been on ever sence but does not heat. Is there a diagram of the microwave available? This is a built in unit. Is it possible to repair it without removing it from it's location?

Could you explain in more detail what you mean when you said you moved around the cord and pushed and wiggled the oven? I'm concrened about a bad cord or outlet, which could lead to a fire.

So - it runs, and it seems to be fine, but it's not heating?

Any unusual noise - groaning, growling, etc.?

It sounds like it may have a magnetron acting up and interfering with the control panel or the magnetron thermostat / thermal cutout may be going bad.

I used my sharp R-1821 convection microwave that night it did not work. outlet is lit up but display does not come on. Why?

More than likely it will be one of the three door switches. Also check the internal fuse in the unit. The fuse if blown is just a symptom, not the problem. It doesn't always blow out but the right combination of switches bad will take it out.

My microwave will not heat up anything! all the panels are lit up and the turn table is working but it will not pop a bag of popcorn or heat up a piece of pizza.

Sorry no answer, but I JUST bought mine and it was working just fine until this morning. Turns on, times down, turntable works, sounds like it's working, won't heat a DAMN glass of water!!! We'd both like help please

It worked yesterday morning, but now nothing.... The display is lit up, but nothing happens when I push on the numbers.

If you have got the manual, I would go about this as you were starting the oven for the first time. Start with setting the clock, if that works the rest should be easy, unless it is the on/off button is not working. Then you will have to take the micro to an electrician. Kolbrun

Chefmate microwave P70D20AL-D4 beeping

After calling many numbers, I was put in contact with the manufacturer, Galanz Microwave, and was told that that beeping is due to a burned out part in the keypad that is not servicable. I, too, have this annoying model!

Kenmore elite microwave touch screen stopped working

Same thing happened to us. We just came back from Sears, where we bought another. Just for giggles, my wife suggested unplugging the old one and plugging it back in again. It works now. New one's going back to the store.

Starting by itself

Time for a service call. Should not turn on by itself at any cause. Circuit board is my guess. May be cheaper/easier to get new microwave. My first one lasted about 15 yrs--and the circuit board (touchpad) died. Bought new microwave oven.
